Much to the chagrin of some of the posters on this forum, the anti-Islam video did play a large part in the 9/11 attack on Benghazi.

According to the Times, there's only one bit of intelligence connecting al-Qaeda to the attack:

To use your linre Comp, it's the NY Times.

200 hundred trucks, expert mortar attack by an unruly mob stimulated by a video on youtube? I laugh. I laugh.

The article reported that it was "fueled on a large part." Obviously this group was up to no good well before the attack according to the article. What the video did was fuel an accuse to attack a target of opportunity at the time they did.

If you desire to become better informed about the latest on the Benghazi attack I recommend reading Under Fire by Samuel M Kurtz.

This was the video that came out like two months before the attack and still had only about 10^5 views in the days leading up to it, right? Yeah, that fueled something. It was by no means a planned and coordinated 9/11 anniversary attack. This rationalization is a joke. Trying to propogate this rationalization is a joke. State officials who promised the victims parents of the victims they'd get the guy who made the video are jokes.

Besides which, I thought you agreed with her Lady of Failure that it didn't, at this point, make a difference chomp? What happened to that? Don't get wishy-washy, stick with Hillary's "doesn't give a #$%^" policy about Benghazi.

If true, then why are the FBI named suspects all connected with a "terror group seeking to align with al Qaeda"?

Something doesn't ring true with the NYT report (go figure!)

It would appear that the NYT has already begun its campaign to get Hillary elected in 2016.

The NYT piece is them trying to get this behind Hillary in terms of the public consciousness, is what it feels like. Perhaps even among the Dem base (the people who Rush once summarized as thinking there was some guy named Ben Ghazi who made a video and some people got killed but now he's in jail) there was some residue of scandal or failure clinging to Hillary that they want to try to help purge. So out comes this story full of blatant disregard for facts and truths that even the intelligence and law enforcement apparatus don't doubt, as your post demonstrates, knowing that even as the story gets debunked, it's basic premise of "Hillary was right" will stick to the "Ben Ghazi" level voters.

Of course they are... It simply could not be any more transparent. Sadly, the only people who still read the NYT are the type who don't know any better.

Obviously as dumb as the Obama administration thought we were when they initially floated this as the reason for the attack.

Is that who the NYT blames the attack on? Demonstrators, not militia?

If the claim by the NYT is true, then it shouldn't be a problem to have all those people who survived testify then should it?

Once again, facts aren't cooperating with the conservative narrative.

What do facts have to do with this propaganda fabrication by the Times?

And why doesn't it strike you as odd that al Qaeda ties were conceded innumerable times by the administration after the video lie was debunked the first time around?

Jumping back on the video demonstration train is a one way ticket away from dignity and self-respect.

I'm not so sure that the main argument was that it's al Qaeda per se.

It was Libyan militants with regional al Qaeda backing and a planned, coordinated anniversary attack. The video was of no relevance, not when barely an SEC stadium full of people had bothered to hit the link in the few months it had been online. More people in Libya and Egypt had probably seen Star Wars Kid, Charlie Bit My Finger, and Girl vs. Desert Eagle than ever saw that stupid video before the attack.
