Essentially NY and Governor Cuomo is offering Zero State Taxes for 10 years to businesses meeting certain criteria. Corporate welfare of smart policy for a state bleeding businesses badly? I'd say Cuomo should switch parties. Demos are pissed to lose that tax revenue. That is their money.

    NEW YORK
    IS TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

There’s a new advantage to doing business in New York. A big one. START-UP NY, Governor Cuomo’s groundbreaking initiative, is transforming communities across the state into tax-free sites for new and expanding businesses. Now, businesses can operate 100% tax-free for 10 years. No income tax, business, corporate, state or local taxes, sales and property taxes, or franchise fees.

Get that in writing in a contract with his signature but of course if he's out after 4 years does it hold up? Don't trust a Italian NYer.

They are even spending mucho money on TV advertising. Fast six and Nana should compare this to the deal in La and then complain.

Eat at Pellegrinos or Il Palazzo. They are right across the street from each other, then go to the Mulberry Street Bar and listen to the owner sing Frank Sinatra songs. I took my wife there and she loved it.

before you righties are dancing in the street saying cuomo sounds like a republican and ought to come on over, you might wanna check out his stances on certain other social issues.
Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has already proven himself to be one of the most pro-abortion politicians in the country. He’s repeatedly pushed a bill that would make the state that has some of the highest abortion rates in the nation further down the road of unlimited abortions.

    on gun rights:

"In the area of public safety, gun violence has been on a rampage as we know painfully. We must stop the madness, my friends. And in one word it is just enough. It has been enough. We need a gun policy in this state that is reasonable, that is balanced, that is measured. We respect hunters and sportsmen. This is not taking away people's guns. I own a Remington shotgun. I've hunted, I've shot. That's not what this is about. It is about ending the unnecessary risk of high-capacity assault rifles. That's what this is about. We have a seven point agenda.
    1. Enact the toughest assault weapon ban in the nation period.
    2. Close the private sale loophole by requiring federal background checks.
    3. Ban high-capacity magazines.
    4. Enact tougher penalties for illegal gun use, guns on school grounds and violent gangs.
    5. Keep guns from people who are mentally ill.
    6. Ban direct internet sales of ammunition in New York.
    7. Create a State NICS check on all ammunition purchases"

    on health care:

ALBANY — Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, stepping into the national debate over President Obama’s health care law, used his executive power on Thursday to carry out one of its critical features in New York after the state’s Republican lawmakers blocked legislation to do so.

    more on health care:

Implement the N.Y. Health Exchange with federal funds
"Almost 16% of New Yorkers under the age of 65--2.7 million people--are uninsured. Most are working people and their dependents. We have a unique opportunity to address this challenge by developing a New York State Health Insurance Exchange that will be financed entirely by the federal government. When the Exchange is implemented, more than one million New Yorkers will gain health coverage and individuals who currently buy their coverage directly will see their cost drop by 66%. Small businesses will see the cost of providing coverage to their employees drop by 22%.
In addition to the benefits to the uninsured and small businesses, the Exchange will benefit New York's taxpayers. The $1.7 billion that taxpayers currently contribute to offset the cost of providing care to the uninsured will be significantly reduced. The increased federal Medicaid match that recognizes New York's higher Medicaid eligibility levels will bring an additional $18 billion in funds to the state over 10 years."

We know Verti. Cuomo is a Shit bum wolfe in sheep's clothing. A friend and small business owner (employs 44) in NYC stopped by yesterday and the topic came around to the NYC mayor De Blasio (who he says his awful and that is complementary) and the governor Cuomo, who he says talks like a republican and understands that demo policies are killing the state but is anything but a Pub and is conniving.

What is interesting about NY's advertising is that it makes the point that many of us have been preaching about Government's approach to business and specifically, the current regime's approach to business. If you bring down barriers, cut regulations, make it easier (not more difficult) to do business, keep tax rates low, keep guvmint redtape down...Business may be inclined to actually move to your area and employ some of your residents.

Hold a gun to businesses head, make them pay higher than market wages, harrass them with regulations/red tape/graft, tax the hell out of them....AND THEY MOVE.
