NRA asks SCOTUS to say 2d Amendment requires minors be allowed to buy guns

    Well, it is pretty well accepted jurisprudence that our rights are at least somewhat truncated below the age of majority -- marriage for instance, because of capacity requirements, ranges down to as low as (I think) 13, and the lower it goes, the more procedural limitations there are, like parental or judicial consent. I think minors absolutely do have some species of 2nd Amendment rights, but there would probably be similar parameters.

    If a right can be abridged until 18, why can't they arbitrarily say 60? It's a slippery slope.

    BTW, I bought my daughter her first gun at age 11. She's a pretty good shot. We had some great times shooting.

    I've bee around 16 year old kids I would totally trust with a gun. I have also been around 50+ year olds that should never have one in their hands.

    18 is the age of majority.You can enter into a contract at 18, and fight in the armed forces, why not be allowed to own a gun?
