Stinks for Noel, hope he gets better.

But did I see a Kwame Brown reference in that article?

Probably not the worst thing for philadelphia or Noel. They were tanking anyhow, they didnt need any talented players screwing that up. Noel can rest/rehab all year a la D Rose and can work on conditioning/lifting.

This is pretty much what I'm thinking/hoping as well. I've even read comments from 76ers staff talking about working on his shot. Ideally, he never gets injured in the first place. Given that, this may not be a bad way for things to work out.

Philly gave up Andre Iguodala for Andrew Bynum last year and he never played a game for them. Now, they have given up Jrue Holliday and a first round pick for Noel who may not play for a year and this might be a good thing for them? They are tripping over themselves the way the Clippers used to.

Well, Iggie was gone anyway after last year and Bynum had more upside, so it wasn't a terrible deal. I didn't quite understand the deal with NO (for either side, since the Hornets/Pelicans had a breakout guy in Vasquez, though they at least got the better of the deal), but Noel has some real upside if he can get healthy and learn to shoot a jumper. Rim protectors are becoming buried treasure in today's NBA.

That is too bad, I like the kid. I hope this doesn't become another case like Greg Oden.

I don't follow the NBA very closely, but any chance they've got the loaded '14 draft in mind when making these kind of decisions? I'm not suggesting Noel would have been worth that many wins this year, but this combined with other moves makes me wonder if they're just looking at it as a rebuilding year.

No doubt Philadelphia is tanking this year, hoping to get Wiggins or Parker.

tough, but he is very young, so sitting out a year might help more than it hurts.

with his body, he's going to take a real beating down low in the NBA. I see an injury prone career
