I've always thought a lot more of Kendrick Perkins than others because of what he brings to a team in terms of leadership, toughness, etc., but this definitely drops him a tad in my estimation. I don't know, maybe there is an unwritten rule in the NBA that you can't visit an opposing locker room. Not sure. And I also know Noah can get under the skin of an opponent, especially an opposing center. But for a guy like Perkins, who is almost certain to be dealt or amnestied this off-season with his 10 mil on his expiring deal and a very little production to legitimate that deal, I would be making friends around the league so I can find a new team, not enemies.

Meh. I wouldn't want an opponent hanging around my team's locker room after a game, either. As a casual fan of the NBA, I'd like to see more bitter rivalries, and less pre-game hugging and kissing up in post-game interviews. I.e., treat it more like sporting competition, and less like a multi-city entertainment product produced for your viewing pleasure by the Worldwide Leader.

    I
I like the current state of the NBA better than the old days. No more ridiculous brawls and not much posturing just basketball. There was very little hate at all between the Spurs and Heat but they played one the greatest games ever in game 6 of the finals.

It's a game, not life or death

Noah handled himself admirably, didn't escalate the situation, just quietly left the locker room and avoided a big scene. Perkins comes off looking like a jerk. Noah was the better man.

That just isn't possible anymore because of free agency. There is far less roster stability and far more player movement now than in the past. You aren't going to stay with any one team for too long, which means A) you don't face the same guys in the opposing uniform 4-10 times a year, depending upon the playoffs, to build that same animosity, and B) you are just as likely to be on the same team with a guy as you are to face him that number of times several years in a row. Plus, these guys play international ball together now, plus All-Star games, charity benefits, etc. Even if that were preferable (and I am sort of with Corp that I prefer to see better basketball than some of the thuggish grandstanding that accompanied the Bad Boys or McHale's clothesline or the "Jordan Rules"), I don't think the conditions exist now for it to be a widespread thing.

Noah came off really mature. Didn't escalate it. Perkins comes off as a neanderthal...and really, he sucks as a player. He brings nothing to the table anymore except a scowl.

This reaction from Perkins seems especially over the top since these teams are not rivals or even conference foes. They play twice a year and the Bulls are no threat to make a Finals appearance. Not to mention that the Thunder had just finished beating down the Bulls. This just confirms that Perkins is ALWAYS surly, or just "old school" if you want to cut him a little slack.

Agree with Corp here, too. That Heat/Indy game was very intense with 2 teams just trying to win. Nothing else on the line in Mid Dec with about 55 games left to play. 2 teams playing hard as hell just to prove who was best... on that night.

That Noah locker room deal didn't deserve any......ink.

Old washed up "never has been" that tries to act tough... You're averaging 3 points a game, can't break 10 pts a game for your career... How about you accomplish something other than riding the coattails of a championship team with real NBA players before you continue talking chit.

    From the ESPN write-up:

    http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/stor...ah-presence-oklahoma-city-thunder-locker-room

Sounds like Perkins learned a lot from his mentor, Garnett.

Never liked Perkins and I never will. This incident just reaffirms my thoughts about him.

Opposing teammates can wait outside of another team's locker room.

perkins cracks me up, this guy sucks and is just in the league as a wannabe KG. he was on a really good team in Boston and same now in OKC but lets be real, he has not been any thing close to key part of those teams success. does any remember this from TNT postgame last season. shaq responds to a tweet by kendrick that said "shaq talks about himself to much" i guess shaq thought kendrick was right, so he responded with this

Sure, they can, which is what Noah offered to do. But obviously the Bulls have a different policy and Noah probably didn't think anything of it.

And likely still doesn't. Totally made up controversy. Move along, nothing to see here.

Sounds like Sefolosha invited Noah into the locker room. If that was the case, Perkins is really showing a lack of respect for his own teammate by blowing the whole thing up like he did.
