on Discovery Channel right now. 1,500 feet above the bottom with no safety harness. He's constantly praising Jesus, that's got to irritate the atheists.

I think it's ironic that he consciously decides to do something borderline retarded and then asks Jesus to help. Jesus has a tough gig.

He was actually thanking Jesus the whole time, not asking for help.

Man, I had all sorts of different feelings on this. I loved how confident everyone around him seemed to be. Once he got on the wire, there seemed to be a little doubt creeping in but he did what many of us do and turned to his source of strength and guidance.

    Awesome show overall.

Because of his constant thanking of Jesus, espn will probably have their wire walking gurus on today critisiizing his form and saying that if he doesn't correct his walking technique and stop his constnt thanking Jesus, he will not succeed in the wire walking league. Past success doesn't count to them.

Nick walked a wire in Sarasota at Marina Jacks in much higher wind gusts. It was nuts then also. This one was much further...

We will all die, its just when, where, how and why that remains to be seen.

Makes you proud to be living in the home of the brave.

Pretty amazing feat. Pretty amazing courage and skill. It's a shame that some people use it to bash those with different beliefs and, for some reason, ESPN.

Pretty amazing feet as well! Chuckled when the interviewer after the event said he knew Nik felt like he would make it when he stopped thanking Jesus and started thanking his family and Discovery Channel towards the end of the walk...

Back in the 40's I saw his family grand parents parents sisters bothers perform in Jax Fl several times. They did a routine with bicycles to form a a pyramids with no nets or safety harness They even had little children up there They were the main attraction in the center ring of Ringling Bros Circus and the last act to perform They were breath taking
