What? I didn't know they started extra points from the 10 yard line.

they place the ball on the 10 y line after the snap. that is equal to a 20 y field goal. add 15y to 20y = 35y

Or, they could just leave the best sport on the planet alone. Just a thought.

    Something involving cheerleaders.

    And midgets.

Yeah I don't know why they just don't move the ball back, seems like a easy and simple fix. Unless this is Goodell's way of eliminating a play out of safety interest, just like they want to get rid of kickoffs.

Yeah, at the kickers discretion... it is. But I thought you were talking about where the refs put the ball. I see what you meant now.

Well, the game is called "football" so I would not be in favor of a change. However, if a change is going to happen then there are 2 suggestions I have.

    1. As already been mentioned, hike the ball from something like the 10 yard line. Perhaps that would drop the percentage conversion some.

    or

    2. The way I understand it, he wants to give a team the option of going for 2 points. If they make it, great, they get 2 points. If not they lose a point. I think I have a better idea on this. Keep it more simple and exciting!

Every TD will be 6 points as it always has been. But each team after they score a TD MUST ALWAYS go for the the 2 points with the ball on the 3 yard line. If they make it, fine, they get their 2 points and now have 8. But if they don't, they don't lose a point. They just go away with the 6 points. You know the percentage of making the 2 point conversion will certainly be a lot lower than the 1 point kick now. So that 2 point XP run/pass could have a big affect on a lot of games! Especially if each team has scored the same amount of TDs in a game, like 3 each etc. And I think this would make OT games far more rare than they even are now.

Heard Goodell talking bout the idea and he said 7 for a td. If you want to try for 2 and don't get it you lose the point.

I like the idea, even though coaches would just take the 7 99 percent of the time. But the PAT is boring, so I wouldn't miss it. Plus, I'm tired of kickers being the highest scorers in the league.

Field Goals from under 40 yards are just as automatic as Extra Points, wanna get rid of those too?

    Silly idea.

Leave the TD at 6 points. Pick 7 just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I like where you're going with this. What if the cheerleaders had to toss a midget through the uprights? They might still convert 99%+, but it would at least be more entertaining.

Absolutely... and they've got to catch him too. This has potential. :D

We'll let them use the sound guy's parabolic dish to catch him. That way they're less likely to break their nails.
