What 2-0 NFL team most likely ends up .500 or worse and conversely what 0-2 team most likely ends up .500 or better?

Patriots should have Gronk and their best receiver back within the next few weeks. They'll be fine. New England, Houston, Denver and Seattle should all be playoff teams. The Saints will probably be a playoff team as well with Peyton back as head coach. I also expect the Bears to be .500+. That leaves the Dolphins and Chiefs as my top 2 candidates to be sub-.500.

On the other end, The Giants, Steelers and Redskins are the only teams I think have any realistic shot at being over .500.

    I'm mostly with philip.

I think Phins 2-0 list. I can see the Chiefs also. I think both will be 8-8 or 9-7.

I'm gonna say Giants from the 0-2 list. I see the Skins losing this week to the Lions and dropping to 0-3.

I agree with everything except for the Redskins. They are absolutely pitiful on defense.

The chiefs will be sub-.500 and the Giants will make the playoffs.

andy reid is the most overrated coach in HISTORY in any sport.

Unfortunately, ellie is too good to stay down for very long.

I don't get the Dolphins hate on this board. They have covered twice on the road to start the season.

The Patriots have barely beat two bad teams...
I'm going on a limb. Pats finish 8-8

Giants get to 9-7 and win the east.

    Spillover hate for scum.

But there are probably more Dolphin/Gator fans out than there are Dolphin/cocane fans. It may not even be close.

OTOH, in the NFL, 2-0 teams and 0-2 teams have an equal chance of being boring.

at least in the NFL if you're 0-2 you still have plenty of time to turn around and make the playoffs. Start off 0-2 in NCAA football and your season is down the drain.

Not sure. The NFL has changed markedly in the last decade or so with they free agency operates and how fluid coaching situations are. The best regular season teams are not bets to make playoff runs, even with bye weeks or home field advantages. Four of the last six Super Bowl champs were Wild Card teams and six of the last eight did not have a bye, let alone a bye or home field. I never thought I would see the day that an offensive coordinator gets fired during the season and is replaced by someone outside the team that week; the Ravens not only did it, but won a title doing so.

All that to say 2-0 or 0-2 at this stage is the equivalent of the opening college football polls. How you start may have some impact on how you finish, but it doesn't tell you much about the team or how the season will play out.
