Re: The article on practices, is Eli Carter physically able to practice at some speed currently and/or eligible to do so as a medical redshirt?

Yes, he is fully eligible to practice, but he is still limited. Not sure if they are going to shut him down entirely or if they are just going to let him work himself up to speed in practice without losing the year of eligibility trying to play.

In his interview Alex mentioned Chandler Parsons and that was exactly who I was thinking of when they talked about him being a perimeter player. If he can develop his outside shot he could be a very good one for the Gators.

Is Walker going to be cleared 10 minutes before the Richmond game tips off?

Seems the general feeling is he will play Saturday but I've not read anything definitive on it yet from the coach or the school.

At any rate this extra time has to be beneficial for him when he is allowed to play. At the very least he will provide rest for the starters and will be a big contributor.

Agreed. There is no pressure on Walker. He has received what amounts to a mini-camp to pick things up and get in shape, and now hopefully he will be a little more prepared to contribute when he does get some minutes.

Even if he is, I wouldn't expect him to get meaningful minutes. Richmond is pretty good.....good enough to win the game if things go their way. Walker will be very valuable eventually, but if his inexperience hurts us in the short-run it may be wiser to break him in against South Carolina (presuming it's a comfortable win).

I don't think the game should be that close, at home, if we continue to play well. 10-15 point win IMHO.

Gamecocks looked terrible early but are improving of late and get Ellington back from football. I agree with your point spread prediction, but Gators may have to work harder for it than you think. ^^^

I don't get this line of thought. He would have the same "mini-camp" plus live game action of he were already cleared. Regardless, I'll be glad to see him on the court. It's been a long time coming.

Yes. I can see him developing like Chandler did. Would be great for him and the team.

I'm more concerned about the Arky game on the road coming up.

Pretty simple actually. He wasn't ready for live game action because he missed off-season conditioning, fall camp, and two months worth of practice. What kind of live game action do you think he would get with three days worth of practice under his belt? How could he run our sets? How could he call out pick and roll coverages? How could he function in the press?

What? You mean Billy doesn't just roll the balls out on the court and say GO? I don't understand.

I just now watched some high school video of Alex. He's definitely a lot different than Erik, and a lot like Chandler. Good slasher, good dunker, good ballhandler.

Tomas, aka Murph3.0 will probably end up closer to Chandler as well from what I've seen on his limited videos.

Not sure if Murphy has Parsons's athleticism, but he has got some nice hops himself.
