Noel Mazzone, OC for UCLA, per Brady Ackerman and Frank Frangie via radio talk today.

Here's the scenario that might bring him to UF. If UCLA's head coach, Jim Mora leaves for another job for whatever reason, Muschamp will have a great chance at getting him.

Ackerman said he would be a great fit and a "slam dunk" hire if he comes to Florida. Brady said he knows him and he's as good as they come. Noel has both college and NFL experience which Muschamp likes.

Also, Ackerman said he thought whoever the new hire is would start on Jan 1st immediately after the bowl games.

They were talking about him going to Washington today. I get that he went there, but that would be silly considering what he's done at UCLA and the potential of that program.

This is particularly disconcerting with respect to the OP.

Which sucks because I loved the idea. From what I've seen of them, the offense seems a lot like Seattle and San Francisco (ideally) which I like. In a way, a lot like Urban's philosophy of power spread.

Not to be a killjoy, but Mora is reportedly staying with UCLA.

If Mazzone is really an option, here is another interesting link: http://www.nzonesystem.com/

The contract extension must have just happened or Brady would have known that when he was on radio live talking to Frangie about 5 PM EST.

I was just passing this info along that I heard and if I had known he signed a contract late this afternoon I would not have posted to get everyone excited.

Why does Mora have to leave to get him. He could go to Wash. with Mora. Let's go after him now!

A guy over on another site(won't promote other forums here, not right) who has actually given good information for quite awhile because of friends "in the know" seems to think we hired or at least determined and agreed in principle with an OC a few weeks ago and have told some recruits whom it is to try and save the class. It's speculation of course, but I don't know if any new names have any merit because no one is getting the info from inside if this is true.

I know who it is btw, they just told me not to tell you.
Hint - He host MNF :p

Urban's what? The only power urban was Tebow. Urban relied on speed not power.

Mazzone had a long stint in the SEC with teletubbie at Auburn. Knows SEC recruiting.

I doubt they would tell recruits "who" the OC is if they have agreed in principle already

With Twitter these days the secret would leak

Probably promised the style of offense

I'm not sure anyone comes here without the stipulation that they will be head coach the following year. Why would anyone want to be OC under Muschamp with his previous record of hiring offensive coordinators?
