Florida is a top 5 job. I remember when Shula was fired at Bama and some Bama nutjob called in to a radio show to bitch. The host says something like "Bama is not a top job. It is a has been program. It was a great program but it will never be a great program again. Their time is done.etc"

Florida is great. We just need the right leader to take us back up the mountain top.

By the way, another funny radio host moment was in the mid 90s when OJ Simpson was initially arrested. A sports radio guy on WQAM in Miami got on and berated the cops. "OJ Simpson is a model citizen. He is a man of integrity. The police are goin to be sorry for dragging this man's reputation through the mud.etc"

Good thing for us if Champ does get fired this offseason, it looks like Brown is going to be staying at Texas at least for next season, so Florida would be the top opening.

What rebuilding job? There is talent all over the field. It's not being put in a position to get it done.

Hugh Freeze took an Ole Miss team that was 2-9-1 or something like that, using Houston Nutts leftovers, and had a winning record in 1 season and installed a new offense that doubled its points production.

Rebuilding my ass. That's an excuse. Rebuilding is what Southern Miss is doing. 2011 conference champions and 12-2. They lost 20 games in a row and on 2nd coach in 2 years.

WM isn't rebuilding. He's meandering along aimlessly trying to figure out what idenity to have.

Champ isn't getting fired. He's got at least one more year, possibly two.

How about he wins the sunbelt first before we talk about his comeback to the SEC.

Strong would have been a great hire after Meyer retired because it would have left us keep continuity in the program. He would have been able to clean up the mess left by Meyer and kept us rolling. I think keeping continuity is huge. It's the reason why coaches like Shaw, and the Oregon coach can keep it rolling after losing elite coaches.

Now, I'm not as high on Strong. He has done well and can recruit. If he can be more of a CEO and not dictate anything on the offense, I think he could be good.

The coaches I want would be Franklin of Kingsburry. Both fit Foley's model of a young firey guy who can recruit. Both are offensive minds I believe, but Kingsburry only has one year as a HC experience. I want a guy with experience after the Muschamp gamble hasn't really been paying off.

I don't know. This feels a lot like 2004. 1-2 more years with this display every week - I don't think that will happen. Foley loves the Gators too much.

    Jerry Kill.

Solid coach, and for some reason Minnesota wants to can him.

He is a good coach, but because of medical reasons I don't see that happening.

How was he part of the mess? I don't think our program was as bad as the articles make it sound during our championship years. The issues in 2010 stemmed from Meyer retiring/unretiring/retiring.

He was on the staff when things started going bad. He helped recruit all of those players and he coached them.

No, it was because the head man was checked out, crying after getting his teeth kicked in.
