florida -- a good job, but not a top 5 job anymore -- a bunch of programs have passed UF by due to some hiring issues
Besides, WKU is second to last in the sunbelt right now.
U mean 23-20, or do you only compete when ur winning?
7 is more than 1% fyi
I give up my season tickets if Petrino is hired, but I feel comfortable that Jeremy would not do that.
I would love to see Foley's list of coaches he says he has right about now. Petrino was definitely on it in 2004 while he was at Louisville and was a strong candidate then if y'all remember. The motorcycle wreck could be a blessing in disguise for gator nation and getting him cheap like Foley has been known to get. We win championships with offensive minded coaches. You can talk about his character all you want but he is a proven and damned good HEAD COACH
Okay, how about 98%? UF is as desirable a job as there is in the country. When Meyer was given the choice he turned down Notre Dame. The only two guys who turned us down were Stoops who was already winning big at a national power and Shanahan who was winning Super Bowls.
? Really? Do u know what makes a program
Some people are crazy. Hiring his mistress was not the only bad thing he did. He interviewed for the Auburn job during the season while at Louisville . He quit on Atlanta and he cant recruit.
The problem is the elite guys are either already at premiere programs and the up and comers don't want to leave their quality teams for a rebuilding job.
You have to basically get the timing right on a big hire like Bama did with Saban.
Plus the whole interviewing for the Auburn job while Tubbs was still the head coach.
However, it does seem to me some of us at least agree on one thing- If Champ gets fired, the new coach should have a pedigree in offense.
I dont really care about what side of the ball the head coach used to coach many other however do.
Could give Champ next season with the caveat that Pease goes this offseason. If it does not work next season, Kelly's show clause ends in Dec 2014, and the Eagles are still sucking we have a shot.
Knock his character as you wish
But.....millions of people cheat on their partners, who hasn't interviewed for a BETTER job while at their current assignment, and I'm pretty sure that taking in a NFL "bailout" worked pretty well for a western sec multiple NC team..
Also try to think back and remember how multiple TD's in a game felt!!
Man, you really believe this? 99%? Uh, no.
You forgot hiring his mistress to a job she was not qualify for .
Yeah this is the part that got him fired. If he had just cheated he would still be at Arky getting his head beat in because of his bad recruiting and having to coach his players now.
People will totally disagree with me but I have some reservations about running that type of offense in the SEC. All these running QB's are getting hurt in the SEC this year. But there is Bama LSU & UGA still playing there starting QB with no major injury.
She was more than qualified for the job she was hired for, just not the job she was getting paid for.
