Not buying this one. He's got one offer - Gardner Webb.

He's a PF from Canada who played high school ball at Nelson County HS in Bardstown, Ky. I'd give you his stats and rankings, but none of the sites have any information on him.

This is such a stretch as to be unbelievable. I'd rather see the ship held for a class of 15 player if we can't do better than this for the 14 class.

EDIT: Found this video highlight - he can make layups and dunks plus he can block the shots of high school kids. He looks good physically so UF and others, Washington/Oregon/FSU, are taking a look:

This is for real. He is one of those kids who really came into focus during his senior year.

In that video, he looks like he has an instinct as a quick leaper, one of those guys who has a feel for timing his jump. I can see why he'd be drawing late interest. Course, it's not hard to look good against Canadian high-schoolers.

Some guys, especially those with difficult-to-pronounce surnames, are late bloomers. Many weren't introduced to organized basketball until recently.

We're in great shape for next season, but Billy is always looking 2 to 3 seasons ahead. Damontre Harris gets 1 year of eligibility with us. Chris Walker will likely be gone after next season. DFS and Murphy get two more seasons with us. So another big we can start developing as a backup freshman is pretty important right now.

He didn't play in Canada, but he's from Canada. He played at Nelson County HS in in Bardstown, Ky.

Billy D doesn't care about recruiting experts and rankings, said as much at the Final Four. He's looking for someone who can develop in his system and become a good team player.

If Kevin Ndahiro is that, so be it. At 6-9/220, he's big, athletic, and looks to have a frame to get bigger which is important. One thing you can't teach is size.

The thing to bear in mind is that we are desperately short on bigs in our lower classes. Harris is a senior, Murphy and DFS are juniors, and C. Walk is a senior. It is entirely possible that none of those guys are here in 2016-17, which means we would have a sophomore Hayes, maybe a junior Robinson, and a bunch of freshmen. A guy like this could be a nice developmental type with good size and athleticism who can develop his body and game over the next year or two.

By the way, thanks for the video--even if the super slow mo replays are like nails scraping on a chalkboard.

The reason for such scant information on a player of this size, either 6-9/220 or listed at 235 on 247 Sports, is he sat out his junior season and then played AAU ball last summer. I'd be curious to know why he didn't play his junior season..........
