Makes no sense whatsoever!!!! We beat the 2, 3, and 4 during the regular season including a neutral, as visitor and one at home. The one at home was one of the worst defeats in Northwestern history!

The committee has now said the conference title game is more important than the regular season!

I'm glad we were "disrespected" with a 5 seed. Hopefully our girls will play with a chip on their shoulder -- and win the whole thing!

There is a huge regional bias when it comes to this sport and you have to overcome that...I would imagine most of the officials for these tournaments happen to be from the East Coast...probably not one from Florida... as they tend to give the older powers the benefit of the doubt. Similar to Duke in basketball when they play at home.

3-1 against 2, 3 and 4. Hosed. No respect at all.

The seeds look like they are pretty much straight down the list by RPI where we were #5 even before the ALC championship game. Disappointing, but sadly pretty typical for non-revenue sports.

The path is Jax or Denver, Syracuse, Maryland and Northwestern.

17 national titles since 1982. And the last 8.

Maryland has 10 and NW has 7. When we win the title no one can say we took the easy route!

Hopefully they will understand what they need to do to over come the tactic Northwestern usaed today. They will see that again.

yeah, it appears they went straight RPI rankings w/ the seeding; not much imagination involved w/ that.

UF may have to beat has Denver, Syracuse, Maryland then perhaps Northwestern to win the title. Not very favorable.

Head to head apparently means little. Syracuse was 0-3 against top 5 seeds and UNC was 1-3. We beat both, away from gville. We were 3-1 against top 4 seeds. Makes no sense at all.

The lacrosse infrastructure is furious at the Gators for being so good so quickly. They are going to try to keep the Gators out of the winner's circle no matter what. Last year? Mystifying calls for the entire last half of Syracuse game cost the Gators a shot at the national title.

This. Jeremy Foley "stole" Yale's Hall of Fame coach, and the lacrosse gods and goddesses up North aren't happy with the success of a Gator team and program only in its third year of existence.

I'm trying to hold my temper in check, but since I didn't know that "damn and yankee" were really two separate words, I'll say this "Ladies, Kick down their damnyankee front door, and whack 'em with your sticks when they try to check them this year." Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Say no more:wink:

I began my LAX officiating in Atlanta, where the sport is huge and run by yankee transplants. I can tell you there is little to no repect for anyone in the sport (coach or official) who does not have a connection to northern schools. The whole governing body is in the northeast and Florida is not one of their favorite subjects. There was a story in the first season, of a couple visiting teams, changing on their bus instead of using the visitor locker room. The visiting team's coach didn't want their team to see UF's facilities as our facility put their's to shame.

Only revenge is to win the whole thing and Chomp all the way home to Gainesville.

This could work out to their advantage. At least they could have an advantage over the other teams who would be traveling for the first time, and FLORIDA would already have a "play away from home" experience in this tournament.

    Go GATORS!

I agree and it is a major problem...I have spoken with lacrosse officials that I know in Florida and they say there is a huge bias. It is greater than the basketball officials that work regionally.
