I've looked around and haven't been able to find any info on the track championships on this site. Thought I'd start a thread and hope that those knowledgeable about track and field would contribute to help the rest of us keep up with what is happening in Eugene.

From what I can gather so far -

    - Jeremy Postin finished 3d in the hammer, earning 6 points for the men.

    - Destiny Guause finished 17th in the 200M (23.41)

    - Dedrick Dukes qualified 15th in the men's 200M (20.61)

    - Corey McGee and Agata Strausa finished 7th (4:14.87) and 21st (4:24.90), respectively in the women's 1500 prelims with McGee qualifying for the finals

    - Uganna Ndu finished 20th (13.33) in the women's 100M hurdles prelims

-Eddie Lovett finished 4th (13.29) in the men's 110M hurdles prelims & qualified for the finals

    - the women's 4X400 relay finished 4th (3:30.48) in the prelims and qualified for the finals

    - the men's 4X400 relay finished 2nd (302.64) in the prelims and qualified for the finals

Seems to be a pretty good synopsis. Most of our point events start today. Other than the triple and the hammer we get very few field points lately. Running finals start today in the events that are crucial to us.

Things could be better but we COULD score big points today. It will be live on ESPNU so everyone can watch.

I have done a little research on our roadmap.
Women are 12th right now with 16 points.
We also have the AWESOME Cory McGee seeded 3rd in the 1500.
I'm not sure about the other events so top 10 is probably best we can hope for here- but not sure.

    The men are very interesting.
Right now we are 11th with 15 points. That sounds terrible BUT we are only 5.5 points our of 3rd.

    Events today look really good...
4x100- seeded in the top 3
4x400- seeded in the top 2
Triple jump- we have 2 in the top 24. Craddock is our hope.
100 high hurdles- Lovett seeded 3rd.

That is 4 events where we could score as many as 20 points, which might not win but could vault us into top 3 or 2.

USC and TX both have 32 and Arky has 30.5 so it will be tough to pass all of them (esp USC) but certainly we are in it.

Live coverage begins at 5pm on ESPNU.

    Go Gators!!

Update- Omar Craddock has a BIG lead in the triple. If he wins we will go from 11th to 4th.
But a full day still ahead.

1st 3 jumps of triple jump over. Craddock 1st by 1 foot. 3rd place is way back by over 2 feet! He is the class of the field.
If he wins then we have 35- which puts us in 1st by a 1/2 point.
It won't hold but hey we got a chance.

Wow- counting the triple jump win we have 43 points. (Hopefully.)

It will be tough to catch TAMU.

    2nd is possible...
current standings not counting the triple jump, 5000 and 4x4.

    Men 1 Texas A&M 51.0
    Men 2 USC 42.0
    Men 3 Oregon 38.0
    Men 4 Arkansas 34.50
    Men 5 Florida 33.0
    Men 6 Texas 32.0

Tough to tell exactly but I think we should get 2nd with a decent showing in the 4x4.

The only way we win the title is if Texas A&M gets last in the 4x4 and we win it- something like that. That assumes they didn't score in the 5000- I didn't see all the finishers so not positive on that.

But I think we have a great shot at 2nd.
