Womens tennis the last 2-3 years has been really really good, with 8 plus teams capable of winning on any given day. I thought last years final 16 was the best I had ever seen, and this year is really good as well.
Talent wise, UF is probably at best in the 6-8 range...but they play hard and smart and are a very tough out.
If the talent influx they get next year materializes and meshes with the returners there could be another title run coming.

Going to the semis is always great. Beating #1 uga in front of their home crowd makes it awesome.

    Great win!!!

As someone who doesn't follow the team closely, what happened to Danielle Collins? Did she leave the team? Remembered she was a top recruit.

Transferred to UVA after last season, she's playing #2 for them. They were seeded #3, but lost today to Stanford.

Very talented player but didn't fit in well at UF apparently.

Lot's a talk that Collins was a little "me" oriented....but she has done well at UVA. She actually is ranked about 35th and had a huge singles win vs Krista Hardebeck today in the Stanford match (also won her doubles match).

Women lost a really tough doubles point to UCLA falling in close tiebreaks at 1 & 2. Really good effort considering UCLA has not lost doubles all season, but not quite enough.

    7-8(5-7)
    7-8(5-7)
    6-6 dnf

Going to be tough to get 4 singles against them, but hoping for the best.

Oyen leading 4-1 at #3, but Gators are down an early break on the remaining 5 courts.

Reminiscent of the start to singles against Georgia, so hopefully they can play their way into some of these matches, particularly on the lower courts.

UCLA seems to be just way too good. Won 5 1st sets and already up a break in the 2nd on 3 of them. Oyen's match back on serve at 5-5.
    1-6, 1-2*
    1-6, 1-2*
    *5-5
    2-6,1-1*
    3-6, *0-3

Was afraid of this....UCLA is flat out more talented and UF spent so much in beating UGA. Hoped one of the top 2 spots might play out of their minds and felt like Cercone and Keegan should be in if not win their matches. But Oyen looks to be the only one showing any life

    1 and 2 go down quickly - Morgan 1-6, 3-6. Janowicz 1-6, 1-6. UCLA leads 3-0.

Keegan has fought back nicely in the 2nd. Woolcock is back on serve in the 2nd (but serving now at 4-5 to stay alive), - she and Cercone both need to pull out tight second sets to keep UF in it.

Woolcock saves match point and holds for 5-5, but will now serve to stay alive again at 5-6.

Cercone also a game away from defeat serving at 4-5 now.

    Keegan won the 2nd 6-3

Woolcock and Cercone hold for 6-6 and 5-5. Good fight.

    Keegan down 0-2 in 3rd.

No way Keegan should lose....she is better
Woolcock and Cercone hanging on by fingernails. UF is scary if you let them hang around. UCLA does not want a bunch of 3rd sets

Woolcock dominates the tiebreak to split.

Eyes now on Cercone at 5-5 and Keegan at 0-3 in the 3rd.

Yep...hopefully one of their top 2 turns pro...lol

Cercone seems to be struggling a bit physically...probably cramping. Had a lot of break points in that long game but UCLA ended up holding for 6-5.

Keegan getting outworked and beaten mentally...her opponent is tougher if less talented

Cercone holds to force a tiebreak, but Woolcock and Keegan both now trail badly in the 3rd

    Woolcock 0-3*
    Keegan *2-5

Oyen lost the 2nd, so she's also going 3.

Cercone has been a great middle of the lineup player, but she never seemed to take that next step physically to become an elite player. Pretty much the same player and playing same spot on the ladder as a senior as when she was a freshman.
Jano was a weak hitting #6 player that turned herself into a top 1-2 player

Keegan with a bunch of unforced errors in her last game, including netting the last 2 points...that's it. Good season for a rebuilding year...now get the 3 stud recruits in and crank it up again
