Shaquille O'Neal managed to make Charles Barkley look like a sage last night during the Rockets-Blazers game. O'Neal kept bellowing "BBQ chicken alert!", several times, standing and increasing volume for emphasis, trumpeting Dwight Howard's newfound assertiveness as the key to a Rockets victory.

Barkley calmly (Barkley the calm one ?!) disagreed, pointing out that Howard's demanding the ball was taking shots from the Rockets and interrupting their gameflow.

Naturally, the Rockets collapse down the stretch.

Was going to post this. When it comes to smarts, Barkley is like Steven Hawking and Shaq is like . . .

When did Speights become overweight, immobile, and balding? He looks like a 35 year old journeyman.

Harden was a terror when he was with OKC.

What the hell, Houston. Res, you're right. It's definitely not about talent. I mean, that's part of it. But match ups play a huge role. I thought Houston would take this series easily. Shows how much I know. ):

If you think about it, Lillard was the best player on the court tonight. Aldridge was the first two games. Then a rookie D-Leaguer hits the game winning shot in OT. Gotta love the NBA playoffs.

I feel the Blazers lost a huge opportunity because I feel a patented 20 ft game from Harden coming to bail him out of his slump.

Actually, I didn't recognize him. He has become one big dude.

Watching GS and the Clippers is like watching a different game. Up and down the court, ball flying around, lots of transition, lots of 3s and lots of turnovers. Pat Riley would have a heart attack.

As for Harden, I used to be a big fan until I saw him get destroyed on both ends of the court by DWade and the Heat in the playoffs a couple of years ago.

Watchin the Mavs who are surprisingly beating the Spurs right now. Shawn Marion has one ugly jump shot, but it's on today.

Two great games so far today. For all the talk of the Hawks not deserving a playoff spot, at least they are entertaining.

Funny. Brooks calls timeout to set up a play (like he ever knows how to draw one up) and then leaves Perkins on the court.

The second Bulls/Wizards game where the end-of-the-half interview was with Brad Beal. Amazing that he is so poised for his age and experience.

He's too passive in large portions of games to do that more than once every blue moon.

Man, this Houston-Portland series is fun. Three of four games in OT, both teams making unbelievably tough shots, and some crucial scores off scramble situations.
