Just thought I'd start an offseason thread to keep our finals and playoff talk going.

Anthony has opted out of his contract. I really hope he stays in the East. The West is too good to be bringing even more talent over.

Talks for Love to GS have stalled, but I still bet he ends up there.

Wish the Bulls had money for Anthony. I think the Bulls are unbeatable with him and a healthy Rose. I don't think those two late first round picks they have are enough to trade up for a game changer at SF.

What do you mean? They seem to be his #1 choice right now. They'll make room, I'm sure.

At $16m a year, I don't think there is room. He may want to be a Bull, but I don't think he want's to take a pay cut.

Carlos Boozer is due to make $16.8 million next year and he's amnesty eligible plus the tax rate for Chicago is 6.5% lower since there's no city tax and state taxes are lower.

Rumors are the Bulls are also working on a trade to get Afflalo if they get Anthony. Talk about scary. Dunleavy, Non guarantees, and a 1st works.

If the Bulls can work out a S&T with Boozer/Anthony they can pay him in the 18-22M range. The bulls have a couple picks this year and a couple picks next year to play around with. Also, by doing a S&T they get to keep their 5M mle and 2.7BAE.

So Duncan has opted into the final year of his contract, so I guess they won't have room for James anymore (If he and Manu had retired, they would have had 20 million in cap space sitting there, maybe that's their plan for next year?)

Anyway, guess the Spurs thing they have a shot to finally win back-to-back.

I saw a mock draft on Bleacher Report that had Patric Young going in the 2nd round to Houston.

Rumors of Chicago being in it for Love using Gibson, Snell, and two first round picks. If I'm Chicago I'd rather a lineup with love then melo.

He definitely has more prime years left if anything. The stats I put in the other thread mark him as a top 5 player as well, something Melo isn't consistently.

Chris Broussard is reporting that Lebron James' agent has told the Heat that Lebron will exercise his early termination option.

Why? Did you expect he wouldn't opt out? If he exercised his option, he would cripple the Heats cap situation. I think this news doesn't mean anything until Wade and Bosh decide. They have til next week. If either one opts in, then I think LeBron is leaving. If all 3 opt out, then I assume they will all come back and take the pay-cut to add another big time player.

Amnesty Boozer!!! That is a hefty price tag though...If I'm Chicago, I'd make that deal in a heartbeat if it was only one first round pick, but a lineup of Rose, Love, and Noah would do some things, and I like it way more than Melo. That said, so much of the Bulls' future depends on Derrick Rose's pesky knees. I hope he doesn't end up like Brandon Roy.

I doubt he wants to play with Felton again. They could buy him out and try to get Lowry and then get Melo. Now that would be a nice core.

NBA draft tomorrow night. Are you ready to ask yourself what the hell were they thinking about 100 times yet?
