Sounds like the official announcement will be made tomorrow.

I like the choice, but will miss New Orleans every so often. Thoughts?

I always assumed Atlanta made more sense geographically, as a kind of central location, but a basketball arena is a basketball arena.

    The tweet I saw said:

So it is maybe not quite 12 straight men's tourneys.

This does not make sense to me but the SEC and basketball never meshed well.

Maybe Atlanta getting football and basketball was too much; however, Nashville is on the North end of the conference and Bridgestone is small and will not help teams prepare for the NCAA.

I am disappointed by this; however, I am not shocked at all because the SEC is so stupid when it comes to basketball.

I love Nashville as a venue. Perhaps my favorite of the bunch.
But I do not like the variety. Oh well. . . if it had to land somewhere, this would be my choice.
See ya'll in Nashville for the next decade or so.

    My guess is that the view of the SEC is that;

    1. Football is in Atlanta

    2. Men's basketball is in Nashville now.

    3. Baseball is in Hoover, AL.

So are there any other permanent or semi-permanent championship sites?

My guess is the SEC thinking on this is:

    1. Football is the most important and Atlanta has a professional level neutral venue.

    2. The schools that care most about basketball are UK, UF, UAR, UMo and Vandy and 4 of the 5 are closer to Nashville than Atlanta.

    3. Hoover puts one of the key championships in a SEC west site.

The next big sports if they do not already have a permanent site, is likely to get a West friendly site. Gymnastics in Houston maybe?

And of course none of those sites are in Florida.

Can we have a mod clean up the thread title? Or somehow arrange to have it moved to a Kentucky board, where its curious spelling wouldn't look so out of place?

Geographically, Birmingham is the closets big city to mid point of all SEC campuses so Nashville isn't that far off, as well as Atlanta.

If you could also just delete any post mentioning the previous misspelling - that would be great too, haha. Actually, there probably isn't much use for the whole thread anymore!

You're the first poster to have a spelling error.
