66 yard TD run by a freshman.....

    LINEBACKER

Unbelievable. He had 7 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.

Jim Mora Jr is a defensive background coach who clearly knows his offense too. Could you imagine one of our linebackers taking a handoff 66 yards to the house?

Would love it if we seriously considered Jim Mora Jr. He would kill it on both sides of the ball with our talent!

He is playing as a full time starter on defense, and is the team's second leading tackler on the season. Coaching staff told him 2 days ago he would be getting carries at running back. He leads the game in rushing yards with 120 and counting and this is going against the number 1 rusher in college football who plays for Arizona. Not sure I have ever seen anything quite like this.

Again, he's not leaving. He was born in LA and grew up on the West coast. He's getting whatever recruits he wants at UCLA. This is his dream job and, quite frankly, is better than anything we can offer him right now. Why would he leave LA, his home town, and a developing Pac-12 power for a busted program in Gainesville?

Yeah... this is some old-school play both-ways football.

He should be a Heisman candidate based on tonight alone.

Doesn't mean crap. We are Florida they are ucla. USC runs LA and once they get their elite coach they again will be the ones getting all the best recruits out there. Mora (to his credit) has taken advantage of USC being on probation with the scholarship restrictions. Ucla can't pay what we can. I honestly think Coach Mora would kill it at Florida!

I think we need to get over this attitude. Yes, we are Florida, they are UCLA...and they'd kick the hell out of us this year, last year, and probably the year before. Furthermore, UCLA is a great job at a great school in a great town. Have you ever been to Westwood? It's a pretty unbelievable place. They just needed to get their program over the hump and Mora is doing that. He's well on his way to god-like status there, he's well liked, and USC no longer has a stranglehold on LA (seriously...its gone and with Mora in town, it ain't going to be easy to get back). Mora is going to keep getting recruits and winning games. And again, Mora is not leaving LA or the West coast for Gainesville. Trust me. As I already said, he's an LA/Pacific region guy and money isn't everything. Additionally, regardless of what many of us think about Gainesville and Florida, neither is looked upon fondly out here.

Missing the point. It's not about SEC vs. Pac-12. It's about UF vs. UCLA as applied to Jim Mora, and I'm right. Also, get over the elitism. Half of the Pac-12 teams would dump on us this year and last year.

I don't even know what to say to this comment. It is wrong and sad on so many different levels. Most telling of all, it is having that mentality that has resulted in where we are right now. It has always been about, "we are Florida" like with a snap of our fingers everything is right. Too sad. Pac-12 top to bottom is better than the SEC this year. Stanford, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Oregon St vs. Bama, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, and Mizzou?

Their conference's disappoint (USC) would skullcrush our conference's disappointment (UF) 10 times out of 10. Yes, indeed, "west coast football is irrelvant."

That is so far from the truth. The wussy Pac 10 is nothing compared to the SEC.

And you believe gator fans are the reason we are 4-5 instead of the coaches and players????

Mora may not come here because he is a West Coast guy, but don't kid yourself. UF is one of the most premier jobs in the nation and is a far superior job than lowly UCLA>

West coast football is irrelevant. When was the last time a Pac 10 team other than USC won a title? 1991 Washington split title? LOL Pac One is more like it.

    SEC 7 in a row.

I made a thread about this yesterday

since firing Kiffin USC under coach O has gone 4-1 and potentially will be 8-5 or 9-4 by seasons end.

also look at Texas since firing their DC they are 7-2 and lead the conference (still has to play BU)

Sure...but can they overcome all that bad publicity that comes from firing coaches mid season?

Him being from L.A., working in his hometown, better weather, more culture, fertile recruiting ground, etc. doesn't mean crap? Mora Jr. will not leave L.A. for Gainesville. And USC has nothing to do with that. You think competing against USC and the rest of the PAC is more difficult than the Gators schedule gauntlet (and recruiting competition). I love Gainesville and have spent 12 glorious years there, but given a choice, would not leave a gig at UCLA for UF.
