It's not that far of a move either. I am pretty sure the job is his if he is really interested.

    So y
Didn't they say spread offense though? Applewhite is more of a pro-style guy from what I understand.

So with us moving more to the spread does this mean we wont do anything under center? I really would hope that we still implement pro-style formations along with spread looks.

Even funnier if Bama hires Pease and ends up winning the TOP award of the year.

The reason I started this thread is to talk about money if you want Norvall or Yurcich. You are probably going to have to spend around 800k maybe 1 mil.. But if that is Muschamp's guy Foley needs to pay it and I think he will even if it takes 1.2 mil. Most people have a price. Taking somebody from making around 1.2 mil in three years to making 3 mil in three years is a big deal. Plus they are going to a higher profile school.

Frank Frangie was on the radio yesterday saying that he believes that Norvell is the guy that WM and Foley want. The big question is whether or not he will take the job. The main reasons it would cost UF a lot:

    1. Norvell has always been with his mentor, Todd Graham, and will have to leave Graham.
    2. Graham may consider the move a lateral one (even though its not) given their relationship.

For reason #2 above, UF is going to have to prove it is not a lateral move with their wallet in a way that won't strain Norvell's relationship with Graham. IOW, they have to throw so much money at Norvell that Graham recognizes it as a better situation for Norvell, and is supportive of the move.

Frangie also said that Mazzone from UCLA was interested in the UF OC job, until Mora gave him a large bump in pay once Mora decided to stay at UCLA.

Todd Graham doesn't necessarily have the greatest reputation as a coach. Go ask the folks at Pittsburgh how they feel about him. I find it comical that he'd give his assistant coach a hassle for wanting to move on to UF for more money & more prestige (and there's no way Graham could straight face tell someone that UF is a lateral move from ASU).

Norvell got a raise to make 500K. ASU would probably give him another raise to keep him. Going to take big dollars to get him to leave

On UF OC search: UNC OC Blake Anderson now has been contacted. To gauge interest. Will listen, but will want to bring OL C Chris Kapilovic.

If he is their pick they should put up the money but it looks like they are still trying to figure everything out

I figured his name might come up. When I have seen them play this year I think at times they should slow it down or at least run the ball more

Changed Norvall's salary in the OP and added Andersen's which is $250,000 it should not be difficult to get him. I would think he would be a back up plan

Frangie is fairly tight with Larry Fedora, so the info probably came directly from him. You have to wonder if WM has already received some 'thanks but no thanks' from the guys at the top of his list. I can't imagine Blake Anderson was near the top to start out with.

um ok that still doesnt make me change what I think about their play when I watched them. At times you need to slow it down to give your defense a break when you are not converting first downs. The short stuff they do is annoying and I am not sure how much he understands tempo. I wounder how that offense would do without Ebron

Anderson's offense is designed around being up-tempo and fast. Lots of short to intermediate routes. Quick hits in the running and passing game. Slowing it down wouldn't be good IMO, and would more-or-less be the same thing we got with Pease this past year when operating from the pistol formation. Anderson's up-tempo approach is a huge advantage.

If we can't get Norvell or Christensen (who obviously isn't being considered right now), Anderson would be my next choice. Certainly ahead of Helton IMO.
