Well you'll have to wait at least another year for him to be fired. Sorry.

Might as well support the team until then.

If you disagree, then tough luck he is still here another year. I'm going to support the team no matter who the coach is, and I happen to think he can still be a good coach.

No worries, I'm just hesitant to post who it supposedly is given that I haven't heard that we have already made a hire from anyone other than the person who told me, and if it's true that we have hired already, presumably there's a reason the program is keeping it so close to the vest.

This WM secrecy is starting to feel like a 5-star primadonna recruit that's just playing games. I know it will come out in due time, however, I want to know who we can look forward (or not forward) to being here already!

I can’t say that he is or we’d see a link stating otherwise.

If Helton stays at USC with the HC being an offensive guy, he will never have the input or get the credit when they do well.

But will Helton make that kind of money as a TE coach at USC??? Big difference there.

If they are keeping him I assume his salary will stay the same he did sign a contract.

I don't think so. It was mentioned in another thread here that he wouldn't even be the OC there.

Wow, woken up to some desperate postings this morning. This board reads like a stroppy teenager at times and it's not even football season for us any more.

Here's a novel thought: Why don't people wait and see before they start tearing strips out of potential hires?

24 hours ago, it sounded like Helton (to many posters) "wasn't good enough" but now, he runs one game in the national spotlight well and people start lamenting how he's been missed out on! Talk about Jekyll and Hyde... the truth is that nobody here knows what the plan is anyway, so why are people bickering about it before anyone has so much signed a contract?

The funniest post I saw this week was something like "I'm willing to give him a chance..." and that just about sums it all up, in so far as the OC position is concerned lately. Nobody knows who it will be, it's all speculation - some of it is highly vitriolic - but how entitled does that statement read? Why as fans should it matter whether or not we are willing? At the end of the day, we have no say in all of this. I get that speculation can be fun, but it's getting out of hand for some who sound like they are ready to throw themselves off a tall building when nothing but hearsay is out there.

    Settle down.

Will Muschamp has decided to promote himself to OC...although since he is the head coach and has been micromanaging the OC position for three years its not much of a promotion. He will be getting a bump in pay while saving the team money and has now become his own scapegoat.

Lol, no. I was trying to play off GatorBen's unwillingness to share what he'd heard. I wasn't try to add to the confusion.

I have no insider info obviously. My out of the box guess is Rhett Lashlee. It would be hard for him to leave Malzahn.
He only makes $350 (even though he's probably about to get a raise). I think a recruit(s) is on the record of Muschamp telling them we would run a system like Auburn's. And to me that makes sense because Muschamp would still have a physical run dominant offense.

Very young, only 30. Only an OC for 2 years. But he's been with Malzahn since high school when he played for him.
