    - There have been a lot of questions about why would a OC come to UF with CWM on the hot seat. One answer is money and opportunity. Wies was scheduled to make $865,000 his 2nd year at UF. Pease was making around $600,00 a year. If Foley wants to he can certainly double and in some cases triple these guys salary.

    ASU Mike Norvall $500,000
    UNC Blake Andersen $250,000
    Oregon Scott Frost $367,250
    OSU Mike Yurcich $400,000
    Utah Brian Johnson $225,000
    Marshal Bill Legg $200,000
    Auburn Rhett Lashlee $350,000
FSUw Dave Schramm less than $300,000
    Dave Christensen out of work

-If Foley is 1000 percent behind Muschamp like he says he is then there is no reason he cant give Muschamp a blank check to get a new OC. A huge raise and a multiyear deal would hopefully do the trick.

-One of my big problems with the Pease hire is Pease had never installed the Boise system at another school. I hope that is something Muschamp looks at when hiring a new OC.

-After looking at a ton of spread offense options my choice would be Mike Norvall. Norvall’s offense should fit Driskel’s skill set well. And yes I expect Driskell to be the starting QB when UF plays Idaho in August.

-A bonus to hiring Norvall is he has relationships with a few prospects I would love to see in orange and blue. WR Eric Lauderdale Darrel Williams.

-I have seen a few people say they expect Norvall to stay at ASU but when it comes to coaching searches nobody really knows what will happen. Who saw Bret Bielema going to Arky?

-Another note- Muchamp went to Wyoming to have an in home with Taven Bryan then he went to Kansas to have an in home visit DeAndre Gooldby. While up there why not meet with Dave Chistensen?

@pat_dooley: Talked to Will yesterday. My impression -- he basically knows who he wants to hire but will wait til after bowls.

I researched many of the names being thrown around for OC. Norvall would be my first choice. If we can't land him, I'd actually like to see us take a chance with Stitt. Those are my choices, but I'm hoping Muschamp finds a guy whom he can work with to turn this around. I think there is no doubt, WM knows he's under pressure to produce next season.

I like NorvEll he has been one of my top choices, he runs a read option spread which suits Driskel/Grier.

    My Top Choices:
Mike Norvell ASU (Has had success wherever he has been. Like the look of the read option spread he runs)
Bill Legg Marshall (Been scoring points for years, probably no desire to be a head coach, so could be here awhile)
Kenny Edenfield Troy (this guy can put it on people. With little talent at Troy, he dropped 721 yds on Tennessee and 500+ yds on Missisippi State, two SEC defenses. He is a good one)
Sterlin Gilbert Eastern Illinois (this guy comes from the Texas HS pedigree and can flat out put up numbers, took EIU from 3-9 to 7-5, to 11-1 this year. Watch his team Saturday at 2pm on ESPN 3. Lacks experience, but I think he is worth the shot. 7,000 yds. 599 per game, 6.87 yds pp and 79 tds. )

Norvell would by my first choice, as well. It doesn't sound like there's much of a relationship there with Muschamp and his relationship with Todd Graham appears to be pretty strong. However, the prospect of doubling your salary AND coaching in the SEC has got to be pretty tantalizing.

I'm glad you felt your opinion was important enought to warrant ANOTHER OC thread

My choices would be Christenson or Norvell. Christenson gets the edge with the OL exp.. I’d be happy with either tho.

Thanks I know you love reading everything type. Tbh was looking for the big thread and couldn't find it earlier also thought the salary discussion was one that might want to be addressed in a different thread.

A problem with waiting that long is that other schools are going to be making moves between now and then. If Norvell is our guy, his name is being thrown around for mid-major HC jobs. A lot of moves are going to take place between now and January.

I was thinking the same thing. Also if it is Christenson, why wait, he is out of work. Get him in here and on the trail.

I would guess if they already know who the guy is he has probably already agreed to be the coach as well. If named the OC of UF and he got a HC gig he would leave anyways before ever coaching a snap.

And why I don’t think it’s Christenson. He may be #2 as it stands.

My gut feeling is Norvell will be the guy. He seems to fit the requirements from the little bit of info thats been leaked regarding the offensive system Muschamp wants. Also, whoever gets the job will get a 2 year deal, assuming $600K per, thats equal to almost 4 years of salary for most of these guys.

I don't really know these guys well enough to have a top choice among them.

My top choice would be a guy who:
    - has demonstrated success running the ball and throwing the ball... consistently at least 450ypg total and over 200ypg both rushing and passing - let's see ability to strike with balance
    - has demonstrated success in the RZ and on 3rd down
    - has demonstrated he can install his offense quickly, and quickly get young stud players proficient and in games where they can make a difference
    - has a strong enough personality to stand up to Champ when he needs to
    - knows how to coach his coaches and take input/advice from them - White and Joker are very experienced knowledgeable guys
    - has a plan for a staff that will get the job done, including a new OL coach, and if necessary any other coaching changes on the offensive side of the ball
