Since no one has said it, I'll throw out K Neal on D. Not only do I think he's a monster, but I think he might bring that enforcer mentality. We've had it w/ RFN, Major, Elam and nothing sends a message more than a big stick like Elam against LSU 2 years ago. Would love to see that on the first series at bama this year.

What comes out of a thread like this is a realization of all the talent and outstanding athletes the Gators have.

Gray, I like that pick. I'm gonna throw one out there no one has yet. I believe a few sophmores will step up but I'm gonna go with a freshman who will earn his stripes on sp. Teams and defense, but the offensive side of the ball is where he could be a beast. JC jackson...... was probably the best wr in that class except he did not want to be listed or recruited as one. He's a beast with the ball in his hands. I believe he set a fl hs single game record last year for rec. Yards.

I've been waiting for Debose to breakout since the early nineties. Still hoping.

Serious talk though.....I'll go with Driskel. I think he's had enough BS, and is ready to carry this team. (Barring injury)

To be honest there is to many to pick one. The more I think about it I start to think what roper can do with a few guys we have already had on our roster. Like maybe a Dunbar or pittman. Or maybe mack brown or our fullbacks ajagbe, Westbrook, or joyer. With Roper's offense of spreading the ball around we very well get a guy who breaks out and we all say "wow! Where's he been?" A Valdez showers even, the possibilities are endless.

My money is on Valdez Showers. From the UF games I watched last year, the guy looked like he was lightening in a bottle when he touched the ball and could be a star if utilized properly. Next to Debose, he is the UF WR that scares me the most as a rival. He had limited touches last year, so he is relatively unknown to the college football world and could have a big year in Roper offense.

I'm with Gray. Thompson has the talent to really succeed in this offense.

Bullard. I think he goes from being just another solid body in the rotation, to becoming one of the SEC's finest.

    D Rob.
    I think he's a special talent.

    On defense, Alex McAlister.

I'm hoping for Driskel to break out. Our season really depends on it.

On offense Demarcus Robinson and Kelvin Taylor will become household names on the national scene by October.

Well if Debose break out, so to will JD which I believe will happen. I believe he already has in a way but he's had a bunch of, let's call them, unlucky circumstances.

And most of these guys can't have "breakout years" without Jeff also having one. I feel really great about the possibilities for this season without thinking I'm fooling myself.

Just need to finish top 4 to make this playoff. We don't want to miss the first one! Go Gators!!!

There are so many players on this roster that haven't done much, that literally half the team could "break out".

I'm going with Ahmad Fulwood at WR. He's big, will get a lot of one on one opportunities, and I think will abuse some corners on intermediate routes this year.

Well I've decided on my final answer . My pick is : the entire 2014 florida gators squad. We all feel it, soon everyone will know it.

These guys lean on each other so much and football is such a team game that they will all help each other break out. With one guy breaking out will free up opportunities for some other guy to break our as our opponents key on one. This thread shows us we got some talented guys. :)

On defense, I like the other poster's choice of Keanu Neal, so since they picked KN, I'm going with Alex McCallister on D as the surprise player. He's gained good weight, put on lots of muscle, the coaches have been raving about his motor, and he has picked up the system real well. I think he's going to have a good year backing up our starters and may be a starter by mid-season if he continues to develop so well.

Looking at the defense I think people will be surprised by the contribution of Jaynard Bostwick, a redshirt freshman DL who I believe will acquit himself especially well. But as gator_n_sc has stated with his post, I believe we as a team will surprise a hell of a lot of people and teams with our strength and play!
