Today I found out that the new policy that I purchased (because my prior plan was canceled due to the ACA) is no longer being carried by my sons long time doctor.

So now, the anticipated cost increase from last year for my family plan, which was roughly 35% is going to go up A LOT more (into the 80% range) if I want to join a plan that my sons doctor participates in.

So in the end, I couldn't keep my plan or my doctor and so much for lowering costs......

I hate Obamacare so much right now, I can't stand to think about it.

Just talked to a guy who works for a major Lab Company in the NE. Obamacare is wreaking havoc with them as they have been booted from networks for both Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna and have had their reimbursement rates cut dramatically on "exchange" related patients. There will be major layoffs.

Needless to say, if Obama were on fire, none of their employees would piss on him to put the fire out.

Blue Cross and Aetna, both HORRIBLE IMO, are both laughing their way to the bank over so-called healthcare reform.

    CORRUPTION RULES!!!!!

The fact is if you are one of the estimated 2 million Americans whose health insurance plans may have been cancelled this month, you should not be blaming President Obama or the Affordable Care Act.

You should be blaming your insurance company because they have not been providing you with coverage that meets the minimum basic standards for health care.

Let me put it more bluntly: your insurance companies have been taking advantage of you and the Affordable Care Act puts in place consumer protection and tells them to stop abusing people.

The government did not “force” insurance companies to cancel their own substandard policies. The insurance companies chose to do that rather than do what is right and bring the policies up to code.

First off, my plan fit my needs EXACTLY. Second, thank you for telling me that I'm a moron who didn't know what he was purchasing. Sorry to disappoint you but as a UF business school graduate who also has a law degree and worked in healthcare administration field for a few years out of school. I knew EXACTLY what I was buying.

I was happy with my plan

I was happy my plan included my long term doctors

and now because my plan was canceled and the price INCREASED MASSIVELY because of the ACA and my doctors have now opted out of my new plan. More than likely because their new fee schedule under the ACA is not cost effective for them to maintain. I am in a position where I am going to have to pay even more to keep my doctors.

And you know what the funny thing about the whole thing is......the coverage under my new plan is actually worse than what I had previously. More expensive, equal deductable, equal co-pays.

To put it more bluntly, take your canned moveon.org talking point about being taken advantage of by the insurance company and stick it where the sun don't shine. I never had one issue with my insurance prior to late November when the government forced my insurance company to include a bunch of crap I don't need or want.

guess you're not reading that part about it not being the fault of the OA/ACA, but the fault of your actual carrier. so you're getting the blame game wrong.

i'm gonna re-post the gist of that article, so that maybe you'll read it, and place blame appropriately. probably not, but it's always worth a shot.
