Finally got the B&W floor speakers to go with my first audiophile system. Just a receiver, the two floors and a sub, but I've finally done the research to get high end gear for reasonable prices.
Listened to some favorites to start the setup. Right now it's Sting - Soul Cages

Heard some great stuff this morning on the radio. Our entire family's favorite station, WXRT, does a four hour long show every Saturday featuring music from one specific year, sprinkling in news from that year, cultural stuff like which movies were popular and won Oscars, who died, etc. This morning was 1967. Turned it on just in time to hear the Box Tops doing The Letter. Heard some Stones, Doors, Lulu, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Supremes, Vanilla Fudge (covering The Supremes), The Rascals, Beach Boys, Beatles… Too much to remember. As I've said many times on this board, that may have been the best year ever in popular music.

Riding the train into the city this afternoon to watch the game. Will be working on a playlist to get myself worked up. I think I'll start if off with Me and the Boys by NRBQ and probably end with something really aggressive like Motorhead. Open to suggestions from the board to fill up my playlist. (Please no southern rock, unless it's 80s psych) FYI, I have a 20 minute ride on the Green line, as long as eight minute wait to change trains, then a 12 to 15 minute ride on the Red line and a five minute walk to Gator HQ. The Red line stretch is usually fun because it's filled with people on their way to see college games at near north bars.

This is always a good one to begin the season with. I believe this became the unofficial anthem for the '96 season. Goofy video.

Gainesville Rock City - Less Than Jake. If you want to get a little 90s punk going with a Gator theme.

This band is growing on me big time. Have not heard a bad song yet.

Will be seeing them tonight at AV Fest/Hideout Block Party with The Dismemberment Plan, Mac Demarco, the Funky Meters and a few others.
