New Sabbath album, 13. Classic Sabbath.
Me too. Love it so far.
Can't wait to see them. Unfortunately I have to miss the Tampa show so I am heading to Austin instead.
Sabbath and Texas brisket. Good combo.
Listening to Age of Reason right now. Killer!
Deerhunter - Punk!
Speaking of punk ^^^
Modern Man - Bad Religion
Wish I could get a YouTube video for you all, but the stupid little douche bags flooded it all with their acoustic versions..... Asses, what a great song...
Heard a song from the new Neko Case album yesterday. Liked it, though she's getting less and less country with every new album. Been living in Canada too long.
Thanks for the tip, just listened to the one song pre-released on iTunes. Definitely not country but if the rest of the album is like this then we have a winner for sure.
Was listening to the latest Black Rebel Motorcycle Club today. Specter At the Feast. That band has definitely taken it to another level.
Weren't they just in Tampa a couple of months ago?
Great band. Saw BRMC live back when I lived in St. Louis. Must have been '01 or '02. Excellent live show.
Agreed. Saw them open for Stone Temple Pilots and they pretty much upstaged them. I'm not an STP fan so I went for BRMC. Great sound.
I must be one of the only people on earth who didn't fall on my face over the whole Seattle thing. Don't own a single album by a grunge band. I've become a big fan of some of the individuals, but the movement never moved me.
She's playing at the Hideout Block Party/AV Club Music Fest first weekend in September. That's always a great place to see her. She used to be sort of the house act there. Also tended bar for a bit, as did her backup singer/best friend Kelly Hogan.
Nice little festival. Here's the skinny…
I was definitely a Soundgarden fan. Still remember hearing "Gun" from Louder Than Love late night on the local community radio station here in Tampa, WMNF 88.5. No one around had ever heard of them but I was hooked on that album. Never a Pearl Jam fan. Nirvana never really did it for me but I have a much greater appreciation for Nevermind these days. Of course, I am a big Dave Grohl fan. Same with Alice In Chains. Now a days, I really appreciate Layne Staley's vocals as well as Jerry Cantrell's sound. Never liked STP, ever.
Cool, thanks for that. Same weekend as FL v Miami.
Hideout Block Party is walking distance from the Gator Club's HQ. I remember walking away from a Tennessee game just in time to see the dB's go on stage years ago. Unless you actually wanted to go to a stadium in a south Florida suburb to watch a Gator game and walk out afterwards, into a suburb. Blasphemy! Better to hang out with a bunch of hard core Gators in Chicago and watch it on a big screen and walk outside into a big city and walk up the street to hear some great music.
Lol! Good pitch but I think I'm committed to Miami and my horde of married buddies who don't get many opportunities to raise hell anymore.
On another note, my gig with Lollapalooza has wound itself down. My friend (Florida alum) is now associated with AEG (Coachella, Jazzfest, etc) and he is going to be the guy that creates, launches and runs their EDM festival. Great, great opportunity for him and I'm incredibly proud of what he is accomplishing but my backstage access and open tab at Lolla is no longer.
Ill volunteer for that access to their edm fest. You know just in case it would go to waste.
I was at this show. This song rocked.
Lol! I figured you'd jump on that one!
