Total Respect for this man...He is a Class Act, and a great coach despite this year's results...He deserves another year.
You deserve to coach when you coach.
Class act....still doesn't deserve another year.
Muschamp said he doesn't need anyone from the outside telling him what to do. He said he's his own worst critic. He sounded somewhat defiant when talking about it.
Bianchi asked him about staff changes and he brushed it off saying he was going to evaluate everything but didn't say when or how.
Those reporters were careful with their choice of words and how they asked their questions. They seem afraid of him.
He just has not shown anything on the field this year that he deserves another year.
I think he's a quality, class guy but let's face it, he's way in over his head.
you can see that he isn't pleased just as much as we are as fans, and to be honest I don't see anyone any better walking through the door, except all the pipe dream coaches that everyone wants to throw against the wall. Who in their right mind would want to come and coach for a fan base that is so quick to turn on them, even after all the set backs that Muschamp as tried to overcome. But JMO. Fire away.
face it, he is in over his head. he probably will be a great HC one day, and this experience here will make him one. its just going to be with another team.
He was asked about staff changes and even his job.........He said he would look at them at the end of the year like he has the last 2 years.....And his job....."I aint worried about it".lol
Yeah, a lot of the great ones failed or were mediocre in the earlier phase of their careers. Maybe this is Muschamp's time. If he ever gets an epiphany with managing an offense, whether giving a good OC the reigns or if he figures it out himself, watch out!
But that'll take some time, and maybe if we let him stay here, we'll gamble and we may have to suffer a few more losses to Vandy, maybe even UK (yikes). Gotta let him go. Somewhere there's the right guy for us.
If he says he's not worried about it, that tells me JF may have already told him he's safe.
Don't have time to watch right now. Would like to hear him suggest changes that need to be made will be. Will watch later but sounds like he thinks it's all on him, I dunno.
Exactly what I saw. It's a loser mentality to me. If you're open to winning, you are open to change and doing what it takes to win. You're open to criticism and taking it without getting your ego bruised. Will didn't take it well.
Agreed. Good post
Just because you like him as a person it doesn't mean he should get another year.
We're talking about coaches not who we should be friends with.
How did he not take it well?
No one is firing away. In fact, the board seems pretty tame to me. Most of the posts seem more matter of fact like than anything crazy or nuts. It is what it is...nothing more.
He seemed very offended by the questions from the reporters and hurt by the boos. It's okay to not have all the answers...but to not have all the answers and play like you do and don't need any help is a loser's mentality in my opinion.
I've got to agree. Losing to Vandy at home for homecoming may not be a program changing loss at some schools, but it is here.
