@GatorZoneScott: "As long as we win, I don't care what happens. If it takes 51-50, let's go." -- Muschamp on high-scoring games.......

I couldn't imagine a 51-50 game but sounds like champ is ready for a high scoring game

No way our Defense will allow those kinds of points..... Even with Easley out for the season, we are still strong!

He is not ready for a high scoring game and neither is the rest of the team. He was just saying he doesn't care about the score and just wants to win

It's just really hard for me to think this team could ever win a shoot out if it came down to it

they probably can't, but muschamp's model is to eat clock, run the ball and prevent the game from being a shootout.

We will never need to think about it because our D won't let the possibility exist.

It will be interesting to see what our defense can do to slow LSU's offense. It has to happen. They are averaging 488 ypg and 45 ppg. Their offensive talent is a rung or two(in spots) above Arky's. It should prove to be a tough game. I'll be surprised and pleased if LSU scores as few as 20.

LSU will be the best offense we face all year now that Georgia has some significant injuries. This will be a big test for our D on the road.

Or FSU's. I know we hate them, but let's be honest. That is a very good offense.

Exactly. With the exception of the Louisville game last year, our offense hasn't allowed more than 21 points in the last 18 games. Ordinarily, a high scoring game requires teams that allow big plays (20+ runs, 30+ passes) because they don't have good tackling in the secondary. A secondary like ours may get beat deep every now and again because of our press coverage (such as the Miami game), but you aren't going to beat us multiple times in a game and you aren't going to real off repeated big plays.

With TM at QB I no longer subscribe to this. I felt like during the Arky game we found our stride, got a comfortable lead, and then switched to the "ground and pound". Mid way through the 3rd we let off the gas.

I just can't imagine our team giving up so many points that we would even be in a shootout. Either we win or lose close, or we blow them out. I can't see anybody hanging half a hundred on us.

Conservative coaches fallacy. It only becomes a shootout if you let them score.

LSU hasn't stopped anyone much this year, so I think we'll score 25-35 points -- somehere in that range. Am a believer in our defense, which mostly held Miami's passing game in check, so I think we can keep LSU under 20 points.

With our kicking game, we'd better not take our foot off the gas too soon. Special teams are more offensive than our running game offense. Hope we see lots of play action against LSU.
