Even with your math why do we need more in this class? What position do you want to you want to short so we add more LB's? I would like a big time LB recruit but if we cant get one just take a fe next year. Justus Reed is probably a SAM.

We lose Kitchens and maybe Powell that is it. The injured players will be back for fall camp

    2010-2014
    fsu (4, 1, 2, 6, 3)
    Auburn (4, 3, 2, 2, 2)
    Georgia (3, 3, 1, 5, 1)
    Alabama (2, 3, 4, 2, 5)

    UF (5*, 2**, 1, 4, ?)

    *[1 never showed]
    **[both gone]

I cannot take the time to analyze what happened to our rival's LBs after they signed. But our numbers don't add up. If next year's SRs stay healthy, Morrison is good, and a couple 2013 LBs play well we should "ok", barring injury, etc.
I never said numbers aren't tight. But I also cannot understand why our class needs to be small.

Our 2010/2011 classes are all but gone so it isn't intuitively obvious to me why, having so few left from 2010/2011 classes, that we wouldn't be able to sign a class closer to 25 without fear of roster issues. But I'm looking at that from 10,000 feet, just going by the numbers recruited to numbers left on roster.

How close does the SAM come to being DE/Buck in our system? Are you saying he is more a LB so we have one fewer true DL in the class?

Healthy for the next two years? Hope so, seriously. They almost have to be.

You dont understand that we cant over sign? You have to look at who made it in school who went pro who went JUCO what JUCO players came back etc. Also you have to look at what positon they were labeled as and what position do they actually play which is different at times. Our LB numbers are fine .

We really have 2 LB's on the field at a time the Mike and Will. At that position next year we have Ball Morrison Taylor Davis Anzalone. If we needed to Rollin and McMillan could slide there as well that is plenty.

I see us being undefeated until next fall. That is as optimistic as I can get with our HBC.

Jones, IMO, could end up being a FB if Taylor continues to impress and if Adam Lane turns out to be the beast I think he is.

Find it hard to believe that the Gators wouldn't sign a LB this year. Hopefully Davis ,Anzalone or someone else develops because LB play was not up to Gator standards this year IMO.

That was a good article by Pat. Sums up a historically bad year. I just hope we get to laugh about it this time next year.

Yeah I hope we sign a LB. One is all we need. Skipping a position (especially one like LB) in a class is a dangerous unwise recruiting move. This isn't full back we are talking about here. I hope we take 2 DTs total this class.

And even if we aren't undefeated, I predict we are going to dominate the TOP battle.

We need all positions as you recruit for the future, just not the coming year. Unless you want true frosh at some point, you have to continue to recruit. Getting guys in to learn the system pays off later and head counting and saying we don't need...means you may over look a talent because of a depth chart.

Recruit the best, no matter the position.

I think we need to get all the QBs some game reps, next year.

    All of them.

That's optimistic enough. We play Bama on September 20th and the first day of fall is September 23rd.

AZ, we need at least one LB in this class because it's football! There are 3 of them on the field most of the time. It's akin to not signing 2 or more OL in each class. Depth. ST's players. Etc.

I'm glad they are moving spring practice. If JD is the starter he needs the reps.

Good idea. I like him as a hybrid player who could play as RB/FB/HB. That could really complement what we have with other players. We know he can run the ball and block. He can catch the ball. He has enough speed to be a real mismatch on LBs and many safeties trying to cover him... plus a size advantage on most safeties.
