per ESPN (6 year 28.2 Million). Interesting.
An extension? So....he is now 5'6"?
ask Jeremy Foley
Too bad when they figure this out they will be in a mess.
Time for Gamecock fans to get a grip.
Has he hired a new OC yet? He's so good at it.
Great for them for ignoring some obvious red flags
He promoted Bryan McClendon to OC, and hired Dan Werner to coach QBs. McClendon was OC for the Outback Bowl. Dan Werner has a pretty impressive track record as a QB coach, and he was the OC at Ole Miss in 2014 and 2015, the two years Ole Miss beat Bama.
Muschamp joins former coaches Joe Morrison and Steve Spurrier, as the only coaches to reach 15 wins in their first two seasons.
Of course, if we go 4-8 next year, that raise and extension is going to look really stupid.
I forgot to mention probably the splashiest hire is Marcus Lattimore as Director of Player Development. That should have a significant effect on recruiting. https://247sports.com/college/south...recruits-Lend-your-ear-to-Lattimore-113623137
don't worry.....WM will make it look stupid one way or another.
He's done better than expected and it seems that he's smarter now than he was in his first gig at UF. Let's face it, there's a reason why it's a bad idea to hire a head coach who's never been a head coach before -- they tend to learn from mistakes in their first job and get better with experience. Maybe he will work out for you guys.
I was very glad to see SC come from behind and beat Michigan in Tampa. I'd say he deserves the raise, but 6 years is a long time . . . . . .
Congratulations on the big bowl win by the Cocks
he knows how to get paid. That's for sure.
As much as we dislike the mess he left here, he turned out to be a very solid choice for South Carolina. Ok....proceed to hit the red X.
Dude is banking it. Aren't we still paying him too?
I thought the same thing when Illinois hired Zook. And for a couple of years it seemed to work.
Why did Hugh Freeze fire Dan Werner after the 2016 season? Interestingly he was not a full-time assistant coach last season, but was an offensive analyst at Bama.
Too early to judge. I think he's a good coach but they had their fair share of luck regarding the schedule this year. It's relatively easy next year too. If their QB stays, it appears MO is on the way up along with UF and UT.
Six of their nine wins were by 8 points or less.
Lot of personal issues with Dan Werner.. His wife passed away and one of his kids I think has autism.. He couldn’t be on the road recruiting for Ole Miss due to having to take care of things at home.
It seems he learned from his mistakes and is an above average coach now. USC made the right choice.
