I think Tebow is capable of winning games in the NFL, but I think the issue is that he does not have the tool kit that they look for in an NFL quarterback. I like the guy but you can't honestly say the guy has the ability to throw an out like an NFL starter is supposed to be able to do. He has a slow release which will be a huge liability at certain times (although there are QBs that have overcome that one). I hope he gets a chance and I think he is a really solid option at backup but there is now way I would want to give defenses the vanilla palette that Tebow gives them in the long haul. But as a backup seems like a winning option. Plus, he could always come in for goal line and short yardage situations and he does have the ability to pop a big one every once in a while.

Face it, when Josh Freeman is getting cut, Tebow has a lot of competition. Just my take. I go to church every Sunday so my opinion definitely isn't some kind of anti-religious slant. I just don't think he is a viable NFL starter.

Right now the Jags have 5 straight 3 and outs, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions.

Tebow can't be worse than this.

The comments they were saying about Tebow were the exact same ones they said about Alex Smith his first 4 years, who also had a different OC in each year of his NFL career at that time.

Best case scenario: The Jags have a bye after their Oct 27th game. They are 0-8 and bench Gabbert. The owner forces the GM to sign Tim to finish the season out. Tim has 2 weeks to prepare and finishes out as their starter. And they draft a QB in next year's draft.

The real scenario: Tim doesn't get a call from anyone and he will retire from the NFL without ever playing another snap. The only other scenario is if Tom Brady goes down with a significant injury and Tim gets a week or two paycheck.

Jacksonville should have never been awarded a franchise to begin with....that's another thread....

Truth is new owner would be an idiot to do anything close to try and win or create buzz. Joke is on jax....c'mon, and this may be offensive but Jacksonville is a minor league city. A few nice beaches and golf courses but outside that the city has no vibe, character, industry, etc. pretty much a dump and outside of a few days a year for UF v uga is a non factor.

Just do what ultimately will be done and should be done and move to LA. How may jags fans do you know? Prolly not many.

Covering up seats is a joke, shoot I would rather see contraction in the nfl. Jax just isn't a big league city.

Free beer is just a backwards insult to the fan base...he knobs what he is doing...think that dude wants to be in jax? Or does he want to be a rock star in LA?

In all of sports the team that stands out the most as an oddity, is the Jacksonville jaguars.

How come there was this much hoopla when Leak, who forgot more about NFL-style quarterbacking than Tebow knows, was not drafted? Was the worship so extreme that fans thought he could do ANYTHING? I cannot explain the 2011 season at Denver. It is simply inexplicable. But to expect GMs, whose jobs depend on their decisions, to simply scrap all to adjust to the Tebow system, is delusional in the extreme.

Why cannot so many Gator fans accept Tim for who he is?

Because this is a mostly football-clueless fanbase, like it or not.

Because he wasn't the "chosen one" duh. The common argument you will hear is that Tebow received a lot of flack from "haters" yet, guys like Leak had haters in his own fanbase, yet never had remotely the amount of supporters that Tebow had.

I just want to see Tebow play for the Jags because I seriously hope they get Bridgewater. Really though, playing any of the current QB's or Tebow would pretty much guarantee that first pick.

Signing Tim could ruin the plan to move to LA. They will NEVER sign Tim.

^^^^ I just spoke facts. Tebow led a 1-4 Bronco team to a winning record and playoff birth, including many 4th quarter comeback victories and a playoff game. The two players he beat out for the QB job are still in the NFL as back-ups. These two players could not win the games Tebow did - FACT

Tebow has had almost a new OC and HC every year he played - FACT

Tebow did everything asked of him by the Jets, including special teams, route running, and had a 75% completion percentage last year. - FACT

There are many QBs on NFL rosters with losing records. There are many QBs in the NFL that have never won a playoff game - FACT

Until you place Tebow in a NFL game situation and he loses, why do you assume he will not win?

Won in HS, won in college, had high completion percentage in college, won in pros, won playoff game in pros -FACT

Because he was part of a lockout, never had same coaches and playbook for continuity, you state he can't play. QBR rating is why? Tebow had one of the highest 4th quarter QBRs in the NFL the year he started. Also, QBR does not factor in rushing stats or fact that Tebow led Broncos to lead league in rushing that year. FACT

    I'm not Christian - FACT

Yeah, seems like there are more Tebow haters around this board of late than not. Makes me wonder what's up with that.
