If the Jaguars are giving away free beer to get people to come the game why don't they just sign Tebow and sell out the games. Hmmm.... Kinda of a good point...

if they sign tebow and he fails (which he most likely will), they'll get bashed for sabotaging him with no playmakers

if they don't sign him, they'll get bashed for not wanting to sell tickets

    lose-lose situation

Heard it -- and thought - why not -- Floridians love some TT

But you have an owner who is most likely not a fan

Bucs will trade Freeman...Why not sign Tebow for a look? A man can dream at least.

A lot of Jaguar fans are serious Tebow haters. Some of the most harsh criticisms I've heard are from their fans. They don't want their team to become a circus show. I guess they don't realize that it's been a circus the last few years but no one wants to see it right now. At least with Tebow, people would tune in.

I don't see what the problem is in signing him. It's a forgone conclusion that Gabbert isn't the answer so this year is a loss anyway. Sign Tebow, continue to likely fail, but at least generate some support, and then draft Bridgewater if possible. Like the current clowns occupying the positions, Tebow isn't the longterm answer at QB, but he's a better option.

It's really strange. Gator fans too who are Jag fans seem to not like Tim for their team. They act like they have such a better alternative. Last year it was that Gabbert is going to be better. Well not so much. This year it's like they wanna ride Gabbert to the first pick so they can have Johnny football or Teddy Bridgewater. Jag fans just know that if Tebow was their qb he would win (because that's all he does) enough games that would cost them a high enough pick for one of the top qb's in next year's draft. Just give away free beer I guess!

I don't have to. I just know take out Gabbert insert Tebow and it would result in more W's. People said the same crap about what was going to happen when orton was finally benched for Tebow. That the broncos were terrible, a last place team in their division (which they were) the plan with broncos management was to throw Tebow out there thinking he would most likely fail and that they could continue their suck for Luck sweepstakes.

The Jags are actually smart in regard to knowing there isn't a Peyton Manning free agent qb sitting out there to sign if Tebow were to come in and win them games. Therefore don't risk it, stick with Gabbert and company and they will get you the top 5 or better pick to get your franchise qb.

Shad has stated publically he's a big TT fan, but he also said he leaves the football stuff to the football guys. Caldwell's intransigence against signing TT seems petulant.
"Foolish consistency (We build through the draft ONLY) is the hobgoblin of little minds". Seriously, signing Tim might make us worse? We'll rank 37th on the power poll?

Correction: When he turns them around from a 1-4 hole and leads them to the playoffs and destroys the Steelers only to be released then they will get bashed. I know a lot of people try to ignore this, but it's reality and cannot be ignored.

Had Tebow failed on the Broncos then not many people would have stuff if he was released. He was successful and will be successful again if given the chance.

Yeah I have ventured on the jags message boards and they have the most hatred for Tebow out of any fan base. It leads me to question just what percent of the Jag's fan base are actually Gator fans vs Bulldog fans. I think a whole lot of jags fans must be Bulldog fans.
