Murphy's QB rating of 209.4 against Arkansas is the highest for a UF quarterback against an SEC opponent since Rex Grossman had a rating of 235.9 against LSU on Oct. 6, 2001.

It really is getting hard to qualify his success.

Anybody who keeps repeating "wait and see until he plays (insert team)", are really just being haters. The guy has already surpassed anything anyone on here could have ever imagined. The fact he is being talked about favorably in comparison with the previous starter tells me he is a success. If you can't see that, you either need to get your eyes checked or put your bias away and see him for what he has been: A quality Gator QB.

If he beats LSU, we may have our starter for next year. Driskel would make a solid backup.

Keep playing with that chip on your shoulder, Murph!

I'm not going to go ga-ga over Murphy because regardless of who the QB is, there's always that bad game that will come along.

I said right after the UT game when many Gators were talking up TM as the "second coming" I said then that I was going to wait until he'd played UK on the road and a good Arkansas team.

He's played them, and the kid has proven he can run the offense considerably better than Driskel can.

He's played 90% of the UT game and all of the UK and Arkie games, and he won them.

He makes the correct reads, he knows where his receivers are, he makes the right audibles, there are many big plays in the passing game now, and RZ efficiency has sky-rocketed.

I honestly don't know how anyone can say he has something else to prove.

At this point in the season, in order to qualify for total QBR ranking, a QB must have 100 Act Plays.

This year, since Driskel and Murphy haven't played a complete season, they both fall under the unqualifed category.. Driskel has 88 Act Plays, Murphy 82 (a similar sample).

Driskel ranks 93 out of 212 in QBR -
Murphy ranks 4 out of 212 in QBR -

Murphy only trails the Baylor QB and Mariotta from ORE. (there is another QB in there who hasn't played much.

I think the numbers tell all..

Is it even close? Murphy has the pocket presence of a seasoned vet. He is the starter until he graduates....

I'm just enjoying our victory over Arkansas and leaving worrying about the downside to the people here that are better at it.

Unless this version of Tyler Murphy that's currently playing for the Gators disappears and we see a worse version, there is no way that Driskel will be the starter next year.

Driskel will have to suck it up and be a backup or wait until his senior year to get his job back. Or transfer (though I hope not, I still think he can be good.) Maybe watching Murphy play this year and next will be good for Driskel's maturity. Game could slow down for him considerably, which is what he really needs.

Anyways, Murphy is someone we can win some hardware with, THIS year. Don't see a reason why we can't beat LSU or anyone else on our schedule. There are tough games, but we'll be a tough game for those teams too; it goes both ways. Think some of these teams we're about to play are a bit more on the finesse side than we are, their pretty offenses might be in for a rude awakening...

Sorry, but the irony of a deep-fried fast food promoting cancer charities is just too rich.
