Murphy audibled, at the line, into a play, that scored a TD.

The most impressive thing yesterday that nobody has mentioned.

When's that last time someone could say that about a Florida qb?

the TD part or the audible part? We have had audibles for runs. Muschamp said they put a ton in for this game I am glad Tyler took his job serious and was ready

I suppose both. I guess I'm just excited that a Florida qb recognized the defense, called out the protection to the line, called the play to the backs and receivers and executed it.

I've never seen Jeff bark out an audible and command the offense like Tyler did yesterday. We need leaders on that side in the worst way...

I feel like Brantley could have won a lot of games here, under different circumstances

I'm guessing Pease will throw to the RB a little more with Murphy. Short passes out of the backfield, screens, etc. I only recall two yesterday, Jones caught a short one and Ajagbe missed at the goal line. I looked in the box scores for the other 2 games and we are only throwing a few easy short passes to our RB's. It's just something that can help Murphy get completions. Get our non pass catching TE's outside to block, lol.

He did win a lot of games here, when he was holding a clipboard behind Tebow.

Murphy picked up on the left side being wide open and looked to change the play for that side of field. Was nice to see it work.

One thing I noticed they need to button up. If he's calling an audible at least signal to the WRs. If you only tell the linemen and Arab the new play it's obviously 100% run. Leak used to do this in the sook years. Drove me freaking crazy.

Are you sure these audibles didn't come from the sideline?

I would like to see what first quarter against Alabama Brantley could have done.

He was so confident in that game, making some great passes.

Most do but not the one the poster is referring to, which was the Matt Jones touchdown run off left tackle. On many of our runs, the QB has the option to flip the direction of the run pending the defense's alignment.

On that play in particular, Murphy gets to the line, sees Tennessee's alignment and immediately "audibles" the play side direction. It was absolutely the right check and something I don't recall seeing Driskel do this season (or at least not so clearly, another poster says Driskel makes the same line checks but isn't as obvious as Murphy to be noticed by fans... his words, not mine).

To be honest, it has seemed to me going back to last season that some of the lack of success in the play-calling has been due to these kinds of nuances (or lack thereof) in the pre-snap phase of the game.

I get what you are saying, but I'd really prefer our QB be subtle about the audibles. If the fans can see it, be sure the defense can see it too.

The best audible is the one nobody realizes has occured.
