I have been a Bulls fan my whole life (born in Chicago suburbs) and I'm thrilled with Murphy to the Bulls!

Happy he got drafted, but guys getting drafted in that part if the draft are far from a guarantee to stick (look at Macklin and TG for example). Going to take hard work and maybe some roster luck to make it happen, but here's to hoping he does. As a bulls fan it would be awesome.

I love it. I root for the Bulls b/c of Jo... and now have a second reason!

Best thing he can do is come into camp as well conditioned as possible. They're going to work him over good. If he can get quicker feet, I can see him making some noise. I know it's a little more complicated than that, but that's just my quick answer. I hope he makes it. Another one of those kids that genuinely deserves it, if you ask me.

All I can say is Hot Damn! Love Erik. Love the Bulls. He's a nice compliment to Boozer, assuming we keep him. Like having some range from our four. He might even be a stretch three from the bench. He will thrive with the coaching he gets. Best of all for him is that he gets to live in Chicago. 22 years-old and a seven figure income, there is no better place for a young man to live.

    Congratulations to Erik!

He's going to be a long-career role player. People will think of his shooting first, but will soon see what a good team player he is. He excels at setting pick and screens and is a pretty good passer. Not a great rebounder, but not a bad one either because he learned to concentrate on boxing out his last two seasons.

Nice to see Nick Calathes getting an invitation to summer camp from the Mavericks also.

Boynton and Rosario didn't get picked up, but they'll make a lot of money overseas. I do think that Boynton should get a chance from an NBA team for his defense alone.

He can learn a lot from Tibs, especially defense, that will benefit him for a long time.

Great news for sure. I was so happy when I heard it.

Seems like a good fit for Erik for sure.

Congrats big guy and stay healthy.

His father played, but wasn't a star. This might be a Horford story. Murphy will be well prepared for all aspects of the league, and will see this as an opportunity to take it and run.

Having visited Chicago-I'm not sure I would wish to live there. Violence, gangs and lots of poverty but I guess he can insulate himself from that to some degree.

I certainly wish him good fortune.

If he sticks, he is likely to be a role player, but who knows.

I love the town. The south side has been a nightmare for decades (though there have apparently been a ton of improvements in recent years around U Chicago). But downtown around the Loop, Magnificent Mile, the parks on the shore, Navy Pier (a little overrated, but not bad), the hundreds of awesome bars and pizza joints...if I could afford it, I would love to live there. Sort of like NYC, but not quite as expensive or overwrought. You can find decent housing without having to cross two state lines. However, I would need to check into Jenny Craig after too long.

There are bad areas sprinkled throught the city, but much more prominant on the South and West sides. I loved my time living in a high rise in Lincoln Park (north side) and never felt unsafe once you know where not to go. Even jogging along the lake shore several times a week, which I admit was more "looking" than running I added a bunch of weight. It's hard to find a bad restaurant here.

It's a great town to be young and single, I found the people here way more friendly than Florida. Probably because many of the people living in the city were from farms or small towns in Illinois/Iowa/Wisconsin/Indiana with a sprinkling of people from all over.
