    Michigan St. vs Portland
    Michigan St. vs Columbia
    Syracuse vs Colgate
    Syracuse vs St. Francis (NY)
    Duke vs ECU
    North Carolina vs Holy Cross
    North Carolina vs Belmont
    ND vs Indiana St.
    Michigan vs. Iowa St.
UCLA vs every team they have played

Basically, my point is that as long as we get healthy and our players get back from suspension we are in real good shape come tournament time. No team looks unbeatable and the top teams have lost ( UK and Duke).

The season just started. I wouldn't read too much into what is going on now except if you're Syracuse. They're only going to go as far as Fair can take them.

NC state lost to NC central. Gonna be a real bad year for NC state. Good job on picking your team Abu, way to be on the 10th best team in the ACC next year

Yep I thought something similar when I heard the scores driving home. Let's see Duke, UNC, Wake, ECU, NCCU, so at best 6th best in the state of NC?

How long is Gottfried's contract? At this rate, Abu could be available in spring.

Has UF's men's basketball team ever had a transfer from NC State? I thought there was someone but now I'm not so sure. Is there some sort of database out there that lists all of the transfers the basketball team has had over the years (be that to UF or away to other teams)? Would be interesting to see that type of data if it does exist.

None under Donovan. Not sure about prior to that.

Wasn't Dan Werner somehow connected to NC State, a former commit before a coaching change, maybe.

Saw about half of the NC State/NCCU game last night. NC State is in for a long year. With the other teams coming in Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt etc. next year will be disaster. The game last night showed NC State has lost almost the whole starting team from last year. It showed last night. 72-82 in overtime.

On a better note, Alan Chaney scored 19pts and had 5 steals in High Point's victory over Wm and Mary. Nice that Alan is playing with the medical condition he had and excelling.

I believe he even signed with them, which is why the coaching change was important. NC State decided to release him from his commitment, if I remember correctly.

We released Painter from his LOI, then he signed with State. Not sure the backstory, but some of it had to do with the classroom.

This is not unusual. It is rare for teams to start strong and stay strong through the long, long basketball season.

The only time that one can actually make any legitimate judgments is about halfway through the conference season, barring nasty injuries after that. By that time, teams should be somewhere near their level for a given year. Of course, there are always teams that get either very hot or very cold toward the end of the season.

So, really, the only time one can have a really good idea of what is going to happen in say conference play, a conference tournament or the NCAA tournament, is after they are over.

    Was that ambiguous enough?

CJ Leslie also chose NC State over UF in a heated recruitment that came down to the very end. A lot of people thought CJ was headed to UF

That is a great line. I might steal it.

PS: Georgetown and Kansas State lost today already.

Speaking of UF and NCSU we did lend them our basketball coach for a few years way back when.

I believe that we also lent them a bball victory, briefly before Chandler Parsons took it back.
