I signed up for movie pass 2 months ago and since have seen a ton of movies that I normally wouldn't have seen in theaters. It's been great.

Sam Rockwell is getting some Oscar buzz for his role. Really like him.

Looks awesome! I used to go to the movies a lot more often. I would always walk into a 2nd one (don't tell Bill).

Do you need photo ID? Do they check to see if someone is sharing?

No ID needed. Sharing would be easy to track if they wanted to (since you have to sign into the app to get your ticket) but not sure if they do.

Ive had it for 1.5 months and been to 5 movies. The rest in my theater I'm not too keen to see even for free. I still would have seen Thor and coco even without the pass but I saw Justice league, three billboards, and murder on the orient express for fun.

Saw it last night. I thought it was great. Best movie I have seen all year. I expect it win some awards.

I left a little mad at the way it ended, but then I read the Directors take on it and I think it made me appreciate the movie even more.

Figured it would be a good time to rate the movies this year. Feels as though I saw way less movies. Was it me or were there not as many movies worth seeing (aside from SuperHero)?

    Get Out
    The Founder
    Split
    The Comedian
    The Big Sick
    Going in Style
    Murder on the Orient Express
    Baywatch
    The House
    A Cure for Wellness
    Life
    Star Wars: Last Jedi
    Wonder Woman

A few 2017 movies I have watched recently...

47 Meters Down-overall not bad, the ending you will either think it’s clever or stupid..I thought it was clever but overall The Shallows I thought was better.

Hitman’s Bodyguard-if you don’t mind excessive use of the F word and mother F word, it’s actually pretty funny with some good action scenes. Reynolds and Samuel L have good chemistry.

Murder on the Orient Express-excellent cinematography and acting by Kenneth Branagh...Never saw the original one though so I don’t know how it compares.

Wind River-solid movie about a murder mystery on an Indian Reservation. Same director that did Sicario and Hell or High Water..Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen..

Wonder Woman-not impressed at all...slow buildup, some scenes were too dark to see what was going on, almost felt like a female Captain America movie.

The House-overall sucked but that’s probably because I’m just not much of a Ferrell or Amy Poehler fan.

The Foreigner-solid Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan flick...Chan still has his skills and Brosnan plays his role well.

Logan Lucky...a little slow moving but it was an interesting premise and the characters are pretty funny..they play the backwoods redneck uneducated roles quite well...Katie Holmes seemed miscast but I thought the rest of the cast was solid, especially Daniel Craig..

Will probably watch American Made or Dunkirk next

Well, I know I went and saw at least one movie this year.
But at the moment I can't remember which one it was.

Saw a strange little movie a couple weeks ago called Brigsby Bear. Pretty good. Hard to describe, but this review is pretty close:

It is probably safe to say that no matter what sort of a film you imagine Brigsby Bear to be, it isn't that. This first movie creation for director Dave McCary and writers Kevin Costello and Kyle Mooney, who also stars in the film, is difficult to classify but it feels like a kind of mumblecore hybrid between Napoleon Dynamite, Patty Hearst and Frank. It's funny, sweet and a tiny bit odd.
It's not an amazing movie, but it's good, and likely one you haven't heard about.

Another small movie worth checking out, Ingrid Goes West. If Brigsby Bear was a "sweet" movie, this one is the opposite. It's funny at times, but mostly kind of tragic. Both of these movies touch on how social media affects things today, especially this one.

These are sitting home on a Friday night wanting to watch a quiet, short, good movie, movies. If your tastes are all about action or big budget, watch Atomic Blonde (loved the soundtrack!) and don't bother with these. If you like movies like Frank, give them a look, although they aren't quite that good.

Saw Downsizing and Pitch Perfect 3 today. Both were good and entertaining.

I had high expectations for Downsizing. It was a very good story with good acting. I guess I expected a different direction. It was a little more serious than I figured. Worth seeing.

Pitch Perfect 3 was the same as the other 2. If you liked them, you will like this. I don't think Anna Kendrick is good at acting. Some of the jokes were too forced and predictable, but it was still worth seeing. Music scenes were pretty good, especially with the other acts. Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins are pretty funny in the small role they have.

I thought Brigsby Bear was great. I really wasn't expecting much from Kyle Mooney because of his body of work on SNL. I was pleasantly surprised. I actually thought it was better than Frank. I didn't hate Ingrid Goes west, which is good for me because despite liking her, it seems Aubrey Plaza picks some pretty bad movies to be in. And I absolutely hated Atomic Blonde. It was eye rollingly bad to me.
