I'm obviously new here, trying to get a feel for the place, thanks for having me.

Not even sure where to post this but..... With Jon Gruden taking the Raider's job, those of you that still watch/care about the NFL, who would you like to see replace Jon Gruden in the booth on Monday nights?

the Pub is a pretty good place to post most anything except political stuff, (take a look at the threads here) that usually goes to too hot
I have no idea about a replacement for JG the only pro football I watch is the Super Bowl

Collinsworth is the best in the biz. Dunno if a network move is possible but I would love it. Sunday football is so enjoyable.

For MNF, they probably want more star power, however. Manning?

As long as it's not Dennis Miller, they will be fine. Most people don't tune in to watch the announcers, unless the games are really bad.

Welcome to the Pub! And this is a very interesting question. I can't think of any current NFL broadcasters that have the fire (or substance). Joe Buck? He's a play-by-play guy and just doesn't appeal. I can see where Greg Gumbel might be interested in the gig, but he's another play-by-player. With this, we have to think outside the box. It needs to be a personality. Just a quick list . . .

Terry Bradshaw - would bring a bit of the 'ole Don Meredith, who was great.
Gus Johnson - though he's also been a play-by-play guy, he brings the excitement

It's best for the color analyst to be someone who really knows Xs & Os. I would think a recently retired coach or player with personality. Not sure if Rex Ryan is that good a talker. Would like to see a Michael Irvin type character. Not MI, mind you, but someone with that kind of flare and knowledge.

I nominate someone who will bring new blood to the show, g8rtrucker. I'm led to believe that for $9 million a year he can be very insightful.:D
