If a pro-life organization did this, there would be a media meltdown of epic proportions. Apparently one protester in the TX chamber was arrested for punching a trooper. PP's Head, Ms. Richards, tweeted for the group to get louder. Gotta love the classy, my way or the highway pro-aborts who live off of the government.

    CORRUPTION RULES!!!!!

    From the link:

At 12:03 last night, the Texas Senate voted 19-10 to pass a pro-life omnibus bill that Democrat senator Wendy Davis had been filibustering earlier. But that was three minutes too late. The bill had to pass by midnight. Why were they three minutes late recording the vote? Because abortion activists had succeeded in creating so much chaos in the chamber, the Senate was unable to maintain an orderly process. The filibuster actually ended at 10:30, leaving an hour and a half in the legislative session to consider the bill. But mob rule took over with the protestors in the galleries overwhelming the number of police there to keep order.

This is Saul Alinsky-style anarchy disguised as political protest. It’s telling that abortion activists needed to resort to mob tactics and riot to defeat a bill that had such a resounding margin of support.

But after their euphoria tamps down, the enablers of Big Abortion will come to see last night as a pyrrhic victory. There were no actual arguments advanced against the bill, only tired, old slogans and cliches from the ’70s.

What was in this bill that Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, is so proud of defeating? One element was based on model language from Americans United for Life that protects women undergoing chemical abortions by requiring that FDA-approved protocols be followed. At least 14 women have died after off-label use of abortion drugs Another element would have restricted abortion after a baby reached five months. At that point in a pregnancy, a woman is obviously pregnant, can feel the baby kicking, and sonograms may show the baby sucking his thumb.

This sad attempt to divert the story away from the historic filibuster won't fly.

You mean the fillibuster that ended at 10:30. Never heard of a vote being delayed 90 minutes after one.

This incident reminds me of when a pro-abort in the NJ capitol physically attacked/punched a former abortion clinic owner who was testifying on the pro-life side for a parental notification bill. This attack was witnessed by several reporters, but none of them said boo about it, as the victim predicted would happen right after the scuffle ended.

Yes, violence against pro/no lifers is a huge problem.

Except that no one cares even a little.

When you don't have logic on your side, violence is the preferred weapon.

Yes, you care far more than about the rights of females to their own reproductive choices.

It's a big part of why your side doesn't win elections outside of nutjob strongholds any more.

There was another 90 minutes of debate because Republicans weren't very even at applying the rules they used to end her filibuster. They then tried to claim they actually did vote before midnight and it was signed in time until someone went and looked at the computer logs to verify.

Murder just because it's convenient is not a "choice" that any human should have. Women included.

Go open your Branch Dividian cult and have whatever laws you like.

Meanwhile, the war on women continues.

The war on the unborn dwarfs all other American wars combined in terms of American lives lost. Yet the liberal media will never call it a war. Propaganda that would be the envy of Hitler.

We shouldn't kill anything. I'm against the death penalty and abortion. However, in the majority of the abortion cases the women had reproductive rights, and chose to have unprotected sex. Reproduction has already taken place prior to abortion. Abortion is just another example of the convenience our society has come to expect.

Look up the definition of murder in a dictionary from the 60s for a true education.

That is a small part of the whole story, everyone acted like fools.
First, the Texas legislature requires 2/3 majority to bring something to a vote, since they couldn't get that, they called a special session and then the Lt Gvr waived the 2/3 rule making it a simple majority for the session.
The problem with the bill isn't that it limits abortions to 20 weeks, it's that it closes 42 of the 47 facilities in the state that currently provide abortions, and not one will be west of Austin. It's just another back door way to close down on the industry.
But while she was filibustering they apparently allow 3 strikes, she got one for having someone bring her a brace to wear, one for bringing up a sonogram bill (they claimed it wasn't germane to this bill), and then again dinged her when she mentioned planned parenthood. How a previous bill on reproductive rights and a mention of a company that provides abortions is not germane to a bill on abortions is an odd leap. At that point they killed the filibuster with the three strikes rule, and then the dems started raising points of order to kill the clock until midnight. The last question came around 1146p, at which point the crowd did indeed get rowdy and kill the last 14 minutes, but here's my favorite part of the story....the vote passed at 3 minutes after midnight, and they actually doctored the online record to show it passing before midnight on the 25th. People had screenshots of the time and it had been filmed by a local station, so finally at 3a they had to admit it failed.
Doesn't matter though, it while it will make Wendy Davis a star (and she now has almost a million twitter followers, her filibuster was more watched than any cable news show except one last night), they called another special session 30 days long. If they keep the same rules it will pass.

Back to Wendy Davis though, she has a pretty amazing life story. She had to help her family and started working at age 14, when she was in her 20's a friend told her about a paralegal class she could take. She ended up transferring to TCU I think, where she finished number one in her class. From there to Harvard where she graduated with honors, and she did it all as a single mother. She beat a republican in Fort Worth somehow, they tried to gerrymander her out and she won a court case (one that would now presumably be quashed with the VRA ruling), where she became the needed vote that could block filibusters. Now this, and if you have seen her she is quite an attractive woman. Would be surprised if she didn't run for governor.
