No diminishing of Romney's prediction, but given Hussein's proven track record and history it really didn't take a soothsayer to predict what Hussein will always do.

Arrogant narcissists all act the same way over and over.

He just had access to the script beforehand. Probably knows when Nucky is going to die too.

No VA...the other POS Hussein. Weekend golfer. World traveler. Incompetent doofus with title of POTUS.

    That Pile in Chief Hussein.

    Follow along.

Yet the most productive micro-manager ever. Orchestrates every move of every agency. Just this week he reviewed every single government-funded operation, determined a "pain" rating, and selectively closed them accordingly. Acknowledge the effort that takes!

You act as if it's difficult for the POTUS to tell his staff to maximize pain in any way they can. Clearly he doesn't have to personally oversee everything. I realize this is sarcastic, but still.

Yeah, more like the dueling narratives of how Obama oversees EVERYTHING yet NOTHING. But even a passive directive like that would seem to fly in the face of government inefficiency. A "guvment" proponent would hypothetically think that a passive directive like that could never be pulled off so effectively.

But I suppose we see what we want to see. I don't see it. So maybe I just don't want to.

In addition, O delivering the broad mission statement and then the various agencies determining this pain quotient and then executing it so quickly seems quite efficient. Not the sort of thing that squares with government-do-nothing-rightedness.

Yes, because apparently Presidents and their staffs don't use email. Listen, I'm not saying Obama ordered anything like that --But, I think it's silly to pretend that he wouldn't be able to pull it off *if* he really wanted to.

So then you'd be acknowledging extreme governmental efficiency, in the event that it played out this way? I don't know if you're the "govment" type or not, just getting an idea of where you stand.

It doesn't take "extreme governmental efficiency" to gather a staff or have a secretary send out emails. If you're trying to say, "oh he just can't be a total moron and a mastermind at the same time!" you'd be wasting your time and also mistaken about my view. I think he's neither an evil mastermind nor a complete fool.

It's obvious from that video that the Dems have been planning for this outcome for a long, long time. They planned how they were going to make us "feel the pain."

It takes extreme efficiency to formulate the plan, send the emails, and then execute that plan in the matter of a few days. It's the execution part that's efficient. There's no way around that.

Doubtful. Even if true, they then pushed "GO" and BAM!, the pain was felt in all the right places, right on time. If that's not efficient then what is?

Did you even see that short video and read the title of this thread? You can then easily figure out what's meant by it... if you did.

No, I just randomly clicked on a thread and typed some words like a monkey banging at a typewriter. Looking back on it I really got close to the subject of the thread and video. What a miracle!

"feel the pain" is such a joke.....

a very, very, very, very, (i could go on) percentage of the population can not get into a park or a see a memorial and the country is feeling the pain?

    please stop being so dramatic......

A very large majority of America is moving along just fine with this 17% govt shut down.

I don't doubt that because here is what you typed below. Now if you knew that Romney said this before the elections you'd be able to extrapolate the fact that the Dems had plenty of time to "formulate a plan" to make this shutdown... It obviously took more than the "few days" you intimated below in your post #14..

Exactly. How else do you explain thousands of shutdown signs at parks eight hours after the shutdown. Given the red tape for government appropriations they were ordered months ago.
