A couple of previews from Missouri Sports Desks:

Florida Looking for More Explosive Runs
As much as Florida has run the ball this season, it would seem the Gators must be having pretty good success on the ground.
Their play-calling has leaned on the run 274 times compared to 143 pass attempts. They lead the country in time of possession, controlling the ball for an average of 37 minutes and 5 seconds.
Yet, coach Will Muschamp still is waiting for his offense to show some semblance of the unit that was fourth in the Southeastern Conference in rushing in 2012.
Despite its reliance on running the ball, Florida is 11th in the SEC and 58th nationally in rushing yards per game. The Gators’ average of 3.91 yards per carry and eight rushing touchdowns rank 87th in the country.

    Video Tiger Talk Game Preview
With QB James Franklin on the mend, Mizzou turns to Maty Mauk against Florida's disruptive defense. And St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell thinks this is the perfect test for Mauk.

Missouri’s Maty Mauk embraces challenge of first college start
    By TOD PALMER
    The Kansas City Star
COLUMBIA — The last time Maty Mauk started a football game, he threw for 421 yards and five touchdowns in the 2011 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division IV state final.
Mauk also ran for a touchdown that day in front of a crowd of 10,329 at Massillon’s Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
In other words, it was nothing like the crucible he’ll be thrown into Saturday when Mauk leads the 14th-ranked Missouri Tigers, 6-0, against No. 22 Florida, 4-2, at Memorial Stadium, where a crowd of roughly 70,000 is expected.
“He’s going to be nervous and we know he’s going to be nervous, but he’ll be fine,” Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said Monday at his weekly news conference.

Get to know Missouri’s foe: Tigers should beware of the Gator defense’s bite
    By TOD PALMER
    The Kansas City Star
Missouri hopes to buck its recent trend of following up wins against top 10 teams by immediately thudding back to earth the next game.
That history, the Tigers are 0-3 in the game after winning “the big game,” was chronicled here.
It’s worth pointing out that Missouri’s losses in this very situation under coach Gary Pinkel came in tough games — at No. 14 Nebraska in 2010, against No. 9 Oklahoma in the 2007 Big 12 title game and at No. 1 Oklahoma in 2003.
Of course, No. 22 Florida is no slouch, much like those past opponents.
The Gators’ defense ranks third in the nation, allowing 235.3 yards per game. Florida also ranks second in passing efficiency defense (85.52), third passing defense (149.0) and fourth in scoring defense (13.0) and run defense (83.3).
In other words, backup quarterback Maty Mauk, who takes over for injured starter James Franklin, will get baptized by fire.

Always interesting to me to read the press from the opponent's backyard, lots of times it makes me appreciate our players & coaches more than I might otherwise :)

Mauk may be young, but he's no ordinary freshmen. He's the other Will Grier. He's got the skills to beat us.

He looks like a 5.5 forty guy, to me, from the little bit he played in the Jawja game.

Supposedly ran 4.4 this spring according to his coach. Which probably means more like 4.6 but still fast.

The game may be moving a lot faster for him than he's used to seeing. Hopefully that will be the case on Saturday.

Granted he didn't throw much against the dawgs, the throws he did attempt, were not really good. He's a great runner though. Still cannot underestimate the kid.

I guess looks can be deceiving, as he was quite the track star in high school.
