A Creative Writing professor at Michigan State uses his classroom pulpit to rip republicans.

So THIS is creative writing??? Supposedly the school is going "look into it" when contacted about this incident. Translation--nothing will be done. Status quo for libs and their tactics.

Not really any legitimate pedagogical reason for a creative writing professor to go on a political rant other than that he has a captive audience and doesn't realize his opinion is too asinine to bother sharing. Should be a suspension of some kind, probably won't even get a written reprimand.

does anyone wanna be Barrack Obama and be married to Michelle? I mean Barrack?

sounds like an apologetic white man who goes over and over how he feels bad for what white people have done so he has to act like a complete moron

I'm pretty sure some of those students were white. More than likely some were Republican. I guess inclusion and creating a safe environment for students doesn't extend to those two demographics.

I don't think he should have said it. I also don't think I'd get too upset because someone in Michigan said something. But that does seem to be the way here, post any idiot from around the country and claim that's what all liberals are like.
    That's just kind of stupid.

Yep, us conservatives are the one's that get caught up by what people say. Some people have lost their jobs because other people were too stupid to even know what a word the "offensive speaker" meant. Conservatives lose jobs. Libs get a pass.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controversies_about_the_word_"niggardly"

Also see Joe Biden about Obama. Hillary Clinton about a gas station owner. The list goes on and on.

Basically, all conservatives are assumed to be racist. Liberals are not. I mean that professor saw a student looking upset and called them a closet racist without batting an eye. My. F'ing. God. What a dick.

Oh, don't get me started on that... perfectly valid word that has been outcast because it offends the ignorant and the low of vocabulary who assume that it has anything to do with the epithet.

River, Isn't that part of the reason we're on a messageboard? To discuss stories from around the country that pique our interests or might be worth a mention?

I agree though, no one should say that's what all liberals are like. But I have found a tendency within my own anecdotal examples that Liberals, in general, seem to have a higher likelihood of preaching or openly going on about their political beliefs than their conservative colleagues. I have had conservative professors who have also hinted at their leaning, and even admitted as much - but there seems to be an almost preacher-like tendency amongst some of the Liberals. But I also understand that not every liberal is like this and most professors, in general, keep it to themselves.

He speaks and uses the EXACT same vernacular and verbiage as literally all democrats in Washington. He's got the leftist anti-capitalist speech down pat. This guy isn't speaking the fringe... he's speaking the mainstream liberal trash we hear every day coming out of Washington.

Absolutely. I would have no reservations were I in position to "teach" that professor a lesson. What a fool, embarrassing. It would not matter to me if he were on a Republican rant.

    You're so full of crap.

Well, well....seems someone in a position of power at MSU had the balls to suspend the liberal asswipe.

    http://www.campusreform.org/blog/?ID=5040

To quote river..."my god, that's horrible!! a guy in Michigan did that!!!!" It would appear the school in Michigan thought it WAS horrible. And per your other remark..."I also don't think I'd get too upset because someone in Michigan said something"
Yet again it would seem that those at the university DID get a bit upset.

how so? you don't think it's incredibly stupid to find one person doing something somewhere in the U.S. and claiming "yes, that's what they're all like?"

Your 2nd paragraph is wrong. So is your hysterical, broad-brush rhetoric. Why don't you go find a story about someone who did something stupid with a gun, and shriek about all the gun owners?

Because this idiot lib DID something stupid. Sorry if it doesn't fit your narrative of what defines stupid...but few in here are surprised that this incident doesn't fall into your parameters.

Does this mean you approve of his actions?

The conservative who lost his job for using the word "niggardly" was an aid to the mayor of Washington D.C., a Democrat. Oh, and he was gay too.

Are you sure he was a conservative?
