The players grew up amongst the fan bases. The Miami players have an inbred hatred for UF. To be sure, they will play that way.

To think otherwise is silly, IMO. The last time I saw a UF/Miami game was the 04 Chick Fil A Bowl. The Gators were in transition, but it was obvious that the candy canes were the more driven team. Evidenced in the fan base was an enormous number of Gator Hater! buttons worn by adults who were proud to wear them.

Yes, the Miami player and fans hate UF. The game will be played like that from their side. We had better be ready to meet the challenge from the opening kickoff or we'll be coming home with an L in the results column.

Again, even if this does turn out to be THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME EVAR!!1! for Miami fans (a point about which I remain unconvinced), it would only underscore how the mighty have fallen. An early season, non conference game against an opponent in the bottom part of the Top 10? Yikes. I'm not sure this rises above the fourth most important game of the season for us.

Maybe that's why they completely laid down and died in the last game ever at the Orange Bowl. No sense of what's an important game.

They will most certainly crow if they win. But if they don't? Expect the game to be minimized if not outright ignored.

They were 0-3 against top 25 teams last year. We had a bad season two years ago and turned things around last year, but there are no comparisons. I don't see Miami being able to stop our running game or being able to effectively sustain drives against our deep defense.

That game was at The Swamp... During a national title run. Guess Miami isnt as big as they want us to think.

UGA - The biggest rivalry and typically the most meaningful due to SEC implications.

F$U - The rivalry most of us have to live with most of the time.

scUM - Despised because of state bragging rights and who they are - the program that CELEBRATED poor sportsmanship, cheap shots, taunting and cheating. The program that paid bounties. The program that seemed impossibly strong and aggressive whose strength coach was arrested for steroid trafficking with no consequences. Not as bad as they once were, but an awful tradition.

Our d line is going to be fine, and so will RB. I'll give you S and LB. Even then, we have talent galore. Still nervous though! :ninja:

It's probably as much an indicator of current college football live enthusiasm, though the cheapest I found for Miami 02 was $125

This team is not the Miami of old. So they hate us. We hate them too. It's meaningless. Besides, the players are not connoisseurs of old-timey fan hatred these days. These players are becoming more and more like mercenaries and not standard bearers with old school ties.

If teams hating us equated to wins, then Tennessee would beat us....a some point at least.

Well, if we took it there would be plenty of room to put a Seminole "Cigar Store" Indian there if they were to beat F$U....:dead:

On the field, I hope none of the Gators get provoked into stupid personal fouls. Hopefully they've learned a bit about that. I'm more worried about that than some disparity between the two teams' motivation or a hostile environment. Energy will be pretty high.

And the world will be waiting for an early upset or two from the ACC-SEC early matchups. Anything to signal a crack in the armor...

I think we win, but I'd appreciate the NCAA dropping the hammer on UM just hours before kickoff.

That's not a Seminole War canoe. It is Miccosukee. BIG difference.

Osceola was a half (white) breed Miccosukee.
