Who are you cheering for?
This game is being broadcast on ABC and started at 3:30PM (1530 for you military types) ET.
With about 3:30min remaining in the 1st Quarter:
Boston leads 25-9
Crazy start by Boston jumping on the Cavs early!
Boston looks more aggressive and hungrier. Rosier and Brown are too athletic for Cleveland. Al can outsmart Thompson and outmuscle Love.
Really great pub throughout this broadcast for Al Horford - an all-time Gator Great
I know. I love it!
And at the half Boston leads 61-35
A couple clips of Big Al's best moments from the first half:
And despite LBJ's impressive jam there, the Cavs still haven't hit a single 3-pointer
EDIT: Cavs hit their first with just under 9min remaining in the 3rdQ and their 2nd long ball shortly thereafter...
After three quarters: Celtics 14 fouls, Cavs 8
Guess who the home team is? Celtics up by 14.
Some questionable calls for sure!
EDIT: Including one especially baffling call where Tatum's jersey apparently fouled LBJ.
Speaking of Jason Tatum.....that kid is uh-mazing!
5-16 shooting from the great King James. I can’t imagine what Jordan would’ve done today against these mid 20-year olds.
Boston wins Game #1 of the Eastern Conference Finals 108-83
And just because I love him so much and cuz he deserves all the praise and kudos, here's Al interview from the ABC post-game broadcast.
PS: I swear when the court-side reporter asked him how he leads this young Celtics team, it would not have surprised at all if Al answered by saying "I just tell em 'guys, tonight is not about future, and it's not about the past. We need to live in the moment, cherish each moment...."
Lebron called for a travel AND a foul within one minute game time during a playoff game. STOP THE PRESSES!
Lebron’s been giving up on defense a lot lately. He’ll leave his teammates out to dry when he pleases and no one on the roster nor staff has the balls to call him out for it. Rarely will he play good help defense and he’ll look annoyingly at his teammates after baskets instead of focusing on the next possession. Worst teammate I’ve seen on the professional level, and I’m either supposed to accept him as the GOAT or I’m just hating. Great logic.
Been doing this for years......pretty much since his last season with the Heat
He got UP for that block!
