We are close to clinching another National Championship. We are currently behind Texas A&M, but with the few events left to score we have a great change to jump them.

I wonder what the hold up is for the 400 meter hurdles. If the results stand, we should get 13 points and move into first.

Yes! 13 points and we're up 55-49.5 over Texas A&M. The only event they have left is the 400m relay. If we can get second in that, we'll win another national championship. DO NOT DROP THE BATON!!!!

Make that 56.5-49.5. We scored in the high jump.

Only two events left, the 5000 meter (neither UF or A&M have an entry) and the 400m relay. A&M will win the relay, but if we stay close we've got it.

Yep. Us and A&M are the top 2 qualifiers in the 4x4. As long as we finish Top 4 we clinch the title.

My wife came home from work at the mall and I was yelling during the 4 by440 relay. She thought something was wrong and rushed into the house. Then we both kept yelling run gator run.

I wish UF could score better in the throws, A&M won the javelin and thats a big 10 points. If the gators could score in the throws, they would be close to unstoppable. It's always awesome win nattys, what happened to FSU? they were really good and now not so much

It's darn near impossible to score in all events. Our formula seems to be working.

    In Holloway we trust!

EUGENE, Ore. – Behind four individual national champions, Florida's men won their second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships team title Friday night at Historic Hayward Field.

This is the Gators' fourth outdoor national title in the last six seasons, as well as the program's seventh indoor or outdoor national title in school history. Florida has won all seven of its NCAA titles since 2010, leading all Division I programs by two titles during that span.

Florida also won the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2016, in addition to its three straight victories at the NCAA Indoor Championships from 2010 through 2012.

With limited scholarships you have to pick and choose a bit. Mouse has priotized the sprints because that's where's the talent is locally, and also because they gave you the most flexibility in earning points. A javelin thrower might only throw javelin, a two hundred runner for example might be able to run 100, 4x1 Or 4x4. A 100 meter specialist can run4x1, and good chance they can compete in the horizontal jumps or urn the 200.
Just look at Grant Holloway, the best javelin thrower in history couldn't ever touch the points he produced for us.

Oregon does the same thing albeit not this year as much in the longer distances, it's the best way to a title.

I agree, multiple athletes are best, there is a thrower at emory riddle that is close to Olympic standards in the shot and he scores for them in discs and hammer, I would love if he transfered to UF

We have a top notch sprinter coming in...2 great hurdlers, 3 very good 400 talents( I think one might turn into an 800 runner) We have some good young throwers that we redshirted. Next year we should be even better. We may take a little dip in the 400 hurdles, but we may not. We got the Jr college national champ and he actually runs the hurdles at faster times then Futch, just depends on how he responds to the spotlight.

Womens team I am worried about, just not signing the sprinters in the state we should, lost a girl from Palatka that was a lifelong Gator fan.
