treason to the GOP, not the USA. want to pretend that's not the complaint?
certainly do not need a pub doing anything to support the hildabeast
but again as I said McCain is dem lite
A Republican has actually invited someone who doesn't pass the ideological purity test to one of their working events instead of just turning absolutely everything they do into a meaningless political imaging event designed to get a glowing Breitbart headline with the knowledge that nothing with a prayer of ever being enacted could possibly result from it!
We can't have that, there is the terrible proposition that people actually working with those who don't 100% agree with them might come from it!
he can do whatever he wants-he just should not expect his pub brethren to be happy about it
pub brethren are never happy, demo's are never happy, hell, what sane person would change places with these chameleons. I think that's a first down without a measurement.
I appreciate McCain's service to his country, but he is too erratic for my tastes and opens his mouth when he should keep quiet. Joe Biden like. Perhaps he and uncle Joe should be having their own beer summit?
Here's what it is -- either you can knowingly provide campaignable optics for the other party, or you can pompously lecture about who should and shouldn't run for office within yours*. Not both, not without being a complete jackass anyway.
*Exactly what does John McCain know about what it takes to win a Presidential election anyway?
I too appreciate McCain's service in the military. His service in the Senate has been a travesty, though.
Bill Clinton and GHWB are very close friends as well. I want to see politicians who can have discussions and reach consensus with each other. Our form of government is built on compromise and when you don't have compromises you get disasters.
They appear to be close friends now; probably not so good in 1992.
Thing about being in the Senate is there is a voting record. Look up McCain's and tell me where your problems lie. If it's immigration, remember at least 4 other prominent R's are on the same side, President W. Bush and the 3 other Gang of 8 Republicans. If the problem is campaign finance reform, you may have a point. But look at the rest of the record and it's very conservative.
I wish JM would just go away. His time is past and the maverick was nothing more than a useful idiot of the left.
I think GHWB was never friendly with Ross Perot
You are 100% right. The current political climate is so venemous that no one is willing to reach across the aisle and debate issues in a reasonable and productive manner. The way that members of parties are acting is not only counter-productive, but it reminds me of the way 7th graders act and argue.
Having reasonable debates is a sign of maturity. Doing nothing but ranting is not only a sign of emotional immaturity, but requires no intellectual thought. Anyone can make accusations and accuse the other side of being idiots and worse. Pick anyone at random and see if they can do so.
There are no great statesmen or stateswomen. Hence, the childish behavior continues to the detriment of the country and all Americans.
Agreed, that numbskull handed slick Willy the WH.
I will be forever grateful to John McCain. When I lived in Phoenix, I was harassed by the IRS. It was based on an inheritance that wasn't much money but I did everything correctly. I wrote multiple letters and had multiple calls with the IRS and ultimately they were going to garnish wages and seize my bank accounts. I wrote a letter to Senator McCain explaining the situation and presented him with documentation. One week later the IRS called and backed down, I had to pay a slight penalty and was never harassed again.
