    Pouncey is arguably the top center in the NFL, and his teammates elected the 24-year-old as a captain last week. The 6-foot-4, 304-pounder was a first-round draft pick in 2010 and became a starter shortly after the start of his first training camp.

    "You never like to see a guy get hurt, regardless of who it is," said Roethlisberger, who passed for 191 yards, one touchdown and an interception against the Titans. "[Pouncey] is our captain and our leader, and obviously a very good friend. It's tough."

    And so much is made about concussions. This will impact his career....strong knees are a must for a lineman.

    I wish Maurkice well in his recovery!

    The Pouncey twins were once in a lifetime OL recruits for UF; whichever Florida school was fortunate enough to sign them was going to rule college football (Florida was lucky to sign them). You could have successfully run any type of offense with those two talented players. Those two were very instrumental in making Florida look good in running the spread-option offense. At UF, they made it look easy whenever a UF player ran it up the gut on stout defenses or on outside runs when a center would pull to be one of the lead blockers - coordination wise, that maneuver looks very difficult and tough on a player physically after just snapping the ball.

    Did you see how it happened? His own teammate cut him and caused the injury, totally missed the guy he was trying to cut.
