In South America we are referred to as "norteamericanos" or North Americans. (Also "gringos" and "pigs.")

You sure it's not estadounidense or estadunidense meaning united statesman? Pretty sure estadudiense doesn't mean anything ;) Where are you living in Colombia? My wife's from Cali, where I lived for 3 years. Did you learn Spanish yet?

They're Americans too, just Latin Americans, ha. Anyway yeah, I always have so say my wife is from Colombia, South America or they think I'm just an idiot for saying my wife's from South Carolina.

I was born in Puerto Rico. Lived there until I was 17. Graduated from UF, and trained in the US. Have been living in the US mainland most of my life.

    I am 100% American.
    I am 100% puertorrican.

    And that is the truth.

And whoever questions my 100% numbers I will ask.
Do you love each one of your kids 100%? Each one of your parents?

And I feel more at home here than there, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy my heritage.

I thought they were raising hell over the former bassist with VanHalen. I forgot about Mr Jennifer Lopez. I know the bass player is actually Micheal Anthony.

Since this thread is actually about me singing, I played Bernardo in my senior musical. With a pompadour and layers of foundation. "America" is my jam.

PR has sent a lot of people into war on our side. The neighbor across the street from my mom was from PR and after an angry old timer white guy yelled at her, he came to her rescue and told the guy he was going to kick his ass.

They sold out to Mexicans, and now they cut my mom's lawn for free.

When my dad died, a black man and his son's came over and cut her lawn many years ago to show respect for his friend.

Lots of great people of all colors and from many places that have melted into one of us.

The shame is hating anyone, for dumb reasons.

I get the same thing corpgator, Ah your wife is from South Carolina!!!. I have to chuckle. I'm in Bogota and the wife is from here also. Great and beautiful country!! I lived here back in the early nineties when things were a little "tense". Now, I feel much safer here than when I'm back in the states.

Lets not be too hard on Puerto Ricans....those women have mastered the art of getting a size 12 body in to size 3 jeans! Proof is in going there and seeing for yourself.

    whatever

BTW, that you're making that comment - ignorant. Plenty and I mean plenty of beautiful women on that island. Sorry that a lot don't fit the size-0-except-at-the-boobs- beauty criteria most US men seem to love.

Didnt say they were unattractive. The booties are a bit large and the pant sizes dont measure up to the reality. In other words...those Rican women are masters at taking a big booty and putting it in to little girls jeans. Cant a dude show some appreciation for ingenuity?

Apologies - I thought you meant it disparagingly like I'd heard it on other occasions :)

There are a lot more size 3 women than here. A lot more. When I was in HS I could count the obese women in my class with one hand (out of 90).
