Watching Johnny Football yesterday, it reminded me of Fran Tarkenton of the Minn. Vikings and how nobody could catch him. He would scramble around until he threw the ball to someone who was open. Made a good Alabama defense look average.
Anyone thinking we would do better is dreaming. No one can stop him now. You might not like him but he is instant offense.

Made the Bama D look average? How about made a good Bama D look TERRIBLE. More than 600 yards and 42 points. That's not average.

You are spot on with the Fran Tarkenton comparison. Johnny Football is a magician. What a talent. He's unreal.

Manziel has a better arm.. I grew up watching Tarkenton with the Giants. He could never ever overthrow Homer Jones. Tarkenton was terrific, too bad he played on some lousy teams.

He played on great Viking teams. Those were great teams.

I made that mental comparison as well. He's just so similar to Sir Francis. I grew up rooting for the Giants as a kid back in the Bronx. My smartass cousin (Jet fan traitor) used to tell me Tarkenton couldn't throw the ball 50 yards off the roof of our building. A reference to Joe Willie of course.

My Giants back then resembled this aTm team, they lost all their games 48-45. Haha.

Announcer said JM was part Tarkenton, Flutie and Staubach. Kid is a video game.

Why do we continue to create threads comparing us to Bama?

    Just stop already.

He is not going to be able to run around NFL defenses like he does now.

He will be able to use his running skills just fine in the NFL. And the guy is a very underrated passer. The guy can flat out play

Where do you get that from "Manziel = Tarkenton?" Neither we or Bama is even mentioned.

I still look at him and think of a more athletic Flutie, primarily because of his size and the fact that he can throws the most ill-advised passes, yet somehow they end up in just the right spot. Kind of reminds of watching six-man football in West Texas. Just crazy.

    Agree. That's a stretch.

That said, our D is better than Bama's. He (aTm) wouldn't score 42 on us. Problem is, we wouldn't score 42 on them, either.

    No way.

Manziel's too ugly to host a lame TV show ripoff of Ripley's Believe it or Not.

The guy is a lightning bolt, the only one I can think of who looks faster was a young Vick. I didn't see every play but the ones I did, the guy put it right on the money.
